Feedback on the Latest Stream (October 2025)
I'm gonna go ahead an give my two cents on this and also give more detailed feedback once PTB drops.
First of all lets get into the good/potentially good. Perk changes and addon changes: The pinhead addon that was used to bypass BT protections was dumb and I'm glad it's getting changed + syringe rework/nerf FINALLY! (At the very least the nerf is probably making it so it doesn't stack with serum like how styptic and syringe don't stack to make it consistent)
As for the perks I can't say but the perks listed I could see getting some tweaks that would be potentially good. None of them are crazy meta perks except for OTR. Skull merchant changes seem decent and honestly like a huge QoL for SM players without making her annoying again (so don't dc!).
Now that is pretty much the highlight of all the good changes the rest are either mediocre or bad imo. First of all I'm gonna criticize BHVR for the statement they brought up
"It's quite simple — Face camping, slugging, and tunneling, were in the top 3/top 5 reasons for people uninstalling the game."
Well yeah obviously when you ask people "why did you uninstall DBD" in a 1v4 game you're gonna have a bias and that's not really fair. Also I'm pretty sure your game being buggy is also in top 5 yet you still…even during an operation health…don't fix plagues power not working, death slingers power not working, huntresses power not working, spirit audio not working (for years) and much more.
Anyway, it's a dumb reason to balance the game around uninstalls. What you should ask is "why do killers tunnel, slug, or camp?" Obviously I know some survivors will just say "CUZ THER BAD AND THEY JUST WANT TO BE MEEN!!" And yes…there are people that do it for much of the same reason bullies exist in schools. They just do it to be rude and to get a reaction out of people. But here's the thing BHVR, it doesn't matter how much anti bullsh*t you add into your game…the malicious players will find new ways to piss people off and be jerks. They'll find new loopholes new methods to "make people uninstall" which is what you're so concerned about. So lets focus on the people that are just playing the game and ask "why they camp or tunnel?"
So first of all camping…for the most part I'm fine with the anti camp changes proposed as all it is is info. Lets say that again…"info." I want to emphasize how info is probably the most important change you could be adding because it closes the gap between swf and solo queue so long as you don't give them any info on the killer (depends). Survivors having info on other survivors is something swf already has so giving that base kit is always good. So only thing I would add for anti camp is base kit kindred…this is by far, the biggest gap closer for swf and solo queue. In swf you can say "going for unhook!" whereas in solo it's sometimes hard to tell if someone is going for save and then if two people go for save, one person is being chased, and the last person is on the hook…well now no one is doing gens and that's a MASSIVE waste of time for survivors! Base kit kindred + the camp bar will also help them know the killer is camping and to NOT go for unhook and just do gens. As a result more killers would lose if they just straight up camp, and if it's less viable then they'd probably do it less.
Tunneling next! So I love that you guys aren't penalizing the killer and simply rewarding unique hooks. Depending on that BP multiplier I think that on it's own will make a lot of people tunnel less (remember how much old BBQ was used when it had BP attached to it?). The bloodlust tier 1 is nice but…meh kind of mediocre to be frank. Should be at least tier 2…nicer testing spot right in the middle and decide for live release. You lose it when starting a chase so giving ample haste for killers that don't have mobility powers to weaken pre running and holding W (most boring thing in the game) is great! Love that! However another reason people tunnel is because of people that body block with BT…and you…removed the "no collision"? Because people were abusing it? Well yeah no sh*t! When the endurance lasts 30 damn seconds it they can abuse it more easily! Keep it at 10s and make it so they have no collision and it should be fine. If they want longer BT that's what the PERK is for…speaking of…I think BT perk should increase the effects for whoever you unhook AND yourself (kind similar to the change you made to kindred a while back). I think more people would run it then if THEY THEMSELVES benefitted from the perk. In summery, 30s anti tunnel status effect is too long, elusive is fine but the wall hacks on killer is not as that widens the gap between swf and solo queue. Swf will likely abuse that the same way object got abused back in the day. It's only 10s so in most cases it won't be absolutely game changing but there will be cases where someone calls out your mind games on comms by using the anti tunnel aura reading and that would suck to be on the receiving end of…even when you're not tunneling and chasing someone else.
As for the anti slug…hahahaha…no.
Sorry but y'all are OBSESSED on this one and just making it work lol. Like this is the THIRD time you've tried "base kit unbreakable" and I'm telling you rn it's never going to work. It will always punish killers unfairly and feel like #########…especially because some killers are BUILT for slugging (Oni, Twins, Myers, Trapper sometimes, etc). There's another quote from the live stream where you guys bring up how there was a "lose-lose" scenario for killers where someone that was recently unhooked was doing a gen but you can't hook them but you also can't slug them and how that was an oversight. I'm glad y'all acknowledged that at least and realize that was an issue. However unfortunately…I think you've made the same mistake again due to not taking into account more game specific scenarios. We'll see in testing I suppose…but what I would suggest instead is make it so if a survivor is in the dying state and they've been in the dying state for x seconds…they can abandon. That's so much easier. Makes it so they can just move on and not have to deal with that anymore instead of giving them a free built in second chance. Makes it feel like you're holding their hand because you know losing to them feels bad and they don't wanna lose…what about killers that are the receiving end of that and lose a game because someone picked themselves up?

In this video you'll see lots of slugging but he literally had to. If he didn't slug against this group…he would have lost. Gens done. Exit gates open. Notice how ONE unbreakable nearly saved and clutches the entire game. Slugging I think is fine as is and is an important option that the killer needs to use sometimes. However if a killer is camping a slug and maliciously just trying to bleed someone out (or "WS" them) then I do think an abandon option should appear at some point to relieve that aspect of slugging.
In the video however…slugging was the correct play…so why should he be punished for playing well/correctly? Because with this new "anti slug" crap he 100% would have been punished.

I will post new feedback on the PTB sub when it comes out if any of my opinions have changed. For now this is simply based on the live stream info, but much like the last PTB…a lot of this doesn't need that much testing to see how it may be a problem.
