having a game state where downing someone is a misplay because you know you have no reasonable possibility of picking them up afterwards is insanely toxic and oppressive

    If you're comfortable sacrificing a perk slot try running infectious fright or forever entwined. Otherwise you need to pay more attention to your surroundings in chase
