Killer(/survivor) Footprints Aura
Short version:
A second type of aura read where the footprint of the killer (and possibly survivor) is shown instead of the entire highlight.
Explanation:
Sometimes you have a perk - for example Still Sight - that works really well at revealing the killer. The problem is sometimes seeing the whole killer suddenly revealed very obviously can bring a player a little bit out of the experience. While it can be strong, it doesn't feel very fitting to the game.
Seeing a killer direction and interaction is great but seeing a whole Bubba revealed through layers of walls feels much more like a wall hacking game mechanic than a cool ability.
There is an issue with auras being overly prevalent in the game and I don't think it's good, for either side. You wouldn't have to remove regular auras for this to be applicable, and you could buff certain types of aura reading to compensate.
For survivors, you could also have a variant that reveals footprints (and possibly scratch marks) instead of the whole highlight. This would enable a lot of builds to have a strong tracking style perk without it being suddenly very oppressive.
