Chapter: The Man from Baker Street
Survivor: Sherlock Holmes
Backstory:
The greatest detective of all time, Sherlock Holmes, believed there was no crime he could not solve. After cracking another case, he pursued the criminal into a dirty London back alley. Cornered and desperate, the villain, with no way out, threw himself into a swirling, unnaturally thick fog that had suddenly filled the narrow passageway. Without a moment's hesitation, Holmes followed, driven by a thirst for justice and a scientific interest in the inexplicable phenomenon.
He awoke in a forest full of nightmares. Now, his logic and deductive method face a trial by the very forces of Darkness. For Holmes, this is the ultimate challenge, and every encounter with a Killer is a new puzzle to be solved.
Appearance:
Height: 183 cm.
Build: Tall and lean.
Facial Features: Narrow, with an aquiline nose, sharp and piercing cheekbones. A square, resolute chin. Thin, tightly pressed lips, betraying intense concentration.
Eyes: Grey.
Hair: Dark, thick, naturally curly.
Clothing:
A long cloak-cape over a Victorian suit. Headwear: Ushanka fur hat (as an alternative option). Hands and fingers are partially stained with ink.
Lobby Animations:
Standing: Holmes notices invisible tracks by the fire. He takes a magnifying glass from his pocket and studies them intently, thoughtfully running his finger along the ground.
Sitting: Sherlock carefully picks up a clump of earth from the floor with tweezers, examines it through the magnifying glass, and then sets it aside.
Standing: He takes out a worn leather notebook, makes a few swift notes with a pen, then decisively closes it and puts it away.
Animation: Sherlock takes out his pipe, lights it, and can utter one of several phrases, for example:
"I have solved cases motivated by hatred, greed, love. But this... this is a motive behind the very concept of evil. Elementary and inevitable, like the law of gravity."
"The greatest case. The crime is existence itself. The punishment is endless repetition. The client is all of us."
"They are merely tools in a maniac's collection. A hammer, a saw, a scalpel... I study not them, but the hand that wields them."
"Elementary... It has all become dreadfully elementary. Once you understand that you are merely a beetle in a jar."
"Conclusions based on logic always lead to the truth. But what to do when the truth is madness?"
"The trail leads nowhere. Or everywhere."
"The game is afoot. And we are the pieces on the board."
Sherlock Holmes's Quotes
About The Nurse: "Distortion of space through pain? Elementary. Her perception of reality is distorted by agony, which gives her power... and is her primary weakness."
About The Wraith: "Metamorphosis caused by disease... or some external factor? His physiology defies all known medical texts."
About The Deathslinger: "An immortal aristocrat playing the victim. His power is great, but his arrogance is the eternal companion of all aristocratic criminals."
About The Huntress: "A huntress merged with nature. Her primitive tools are effective but lack imagination. Like any savage, she is predictable."
About The Xenomorph: "The perfect organism from a murder standpoint. No fear, no doubt, only pure instinct. A true challenge for the deductive method."
About The Executioner (Pyramid Head): "An instrument of punishment given flesh. It feels no emotions, it is the embodiment of retribution. Fighting it is like fighting a guillotine."
About The Trickster: "A common fraud who found power in puppets. Take away his dolls, and all that remains is a coward hiding behind the suffering of others."
About The Nightmare (Freddy Krueger): "A killer operating in the world of dreams? The psychology of the victim becomes his weapon. Banal, but effective for an unprepared mind."
About The animatronic (The Artist? / Likely The Dredge or a general comment): "A mechanism possessed by the spirit of an avenger. Film and springs... Ghosts of the past, trapped in a metal shell."
Upon activating "Deduction" (seeing the Killer's aura): "Got you! Now I see you." or "Elementary, my dear Watson."
Upon The Deathslinger teleporting (likely a confusion with another killer): "A puff of smoke? Too theatrical, your lordship."
Dodging a Xenomorph attack: "The tail? Predictable. The jaws will be next."
Seeing The Pig's trap: "A bear trap? Seen it before. In the case of the stolen rubies from Baker Street."
When hit by The Doctor's Madness: "Hallucinations? My mind is my fortress. Your tricks are powerless."
Escaping from Myers: "He just... watched. Without hatred, without anger. Emptiness. The most frightening puzzle of all."
Escaping from The Clown: "Laughter and poisonous gas. A cheap trick of a street magician."
After a match with The Legion: "Herd instinct. Frightened teenagers."
After a match with The Plague: "Disease elevated to a cult. A religion based on decay cannot be strong."
After a match with The Dredge: "A creature that feeds on the fear of the unknown. Once you understand its nature, it loses all its power."
Escaping from Chucky: "An animated doll? Amusing. But its chatter reveals an ordinary criminal with an inferiority complex."
About The Demogorgon: "A hound from another world? There is nothing surprising about portals; they are merely another form of door."
General phrase after a difficult match: "Magnificent! This puzzle made my mind work to its limit. What's next, Entity?"
Sherlock Holmes's Perks:
«Deduction»
You are a master of investigation, and no detail escapes your notice.
When you walk along the Killer's Scratch Marks, you begin to "analyze" them. After walking along scratch marks for a total of 3 seconds, you reveal the Killer's aura for 4/5/6 seconds.
After activation, the perk goes on cooldown for 60/50/40 seconds.
«Preventive Logic»
Your anticipating mind allows you to minimize losses from sabotage.
If a generator you were repairing is damaged in any way, you gain an 8%/9%/10% repair speed bonus to restore it to its original state when you get back on it. The initial repair action must have lasted for at least 14/12/10 seconds.
However, after repairing another generator, the perk goes on cooldown for 55/50/45 seconds.
«Confident Sarcasm»
Your self-confidence borders on audacity, which confuses your pursuer.
Any loud action you perform that triggers a loud noise notification for the Killer (failed Skill Check, dropping a Pallet, cleansing a Totem, etc.) has a 40%/45%/50% chance not to create a noise notification.
The perk goes on cooldown for 30/25/20 seconds after a successful trigger.
