Why does the gen release explosion fix keep getting removed?

Some developer, or other, keeps removing or backing off the fix to stop gen explosions upon release. Can someone please explain why this keeps happening? The fix works, but for some reason, someone keeps removing it from new builds. BHVR, can we get an official response on this?
