bridge the information gap between players using voice chat and those who aren't
So in the last patch they used this phrase im not sure if its the first time but its something i thought about a lot of times even posted suggestions.
- The Resolve Bar is now visible to other Survivors while hooked.
Dev note: To help bridge the information gap between players using voice chat and those who aren't, we've added the Resolve Bar to the HUD. This will help Survivors determine if the Killer is camping and plan their next move accordingly.
Im personally against the whole resolve bar because its a shadow mechanic for the killer to play arround and i dont think its the best way to improve the game but i totally agree with the concept of reducing the gap between swf and solo survivors. I hope the devs take more steps in that direction in the future.
Some other ideas to reduce that gap:
Commands to communicate
Perks shown in hud and lobby

They've already stated they do not plan to show surv perks in the lobby because it would likely cause mass lobby dodging.
I've always believed the true power of SWF isn't comms directly, but mitigating the randomness of solo queue survs. Those that have played together for a while learn each other's strengths and weaknesses and tendencies. They know if someone is doing a daily or challenge. They will come back for you if possible, and be far less likely to let anyone go to second stage. Comms alone won't accomplish all of this.

you already have a hud that gives swf levels of information can we just say survivors are terrible and can't read a hud

That's just false and if you've played the game for more then a few minutes in soloq you would know that. it don't tell us if someone is afk, it don't tell us if a killer is proxy camping a hook, it don't tell us things like "don't come for save i have deliverance" making certain perks more useful in swf then solo q.
the hud was a good minimum change that was needed but they need something like a comm wheel with pre made messages.1 -
Spot on. This is the strength of a SWF.
Their comment was hyperbolic but they are on the right track. As someone who only plays solo I thought it was a game changer when it was introduced. It has improved my games.
The amount of people I watch play that never really pay any attention to the hud drives me crazy. It can give you so much information and help make smart decisions. People just sleep on it.

yes but adding something like pre made communication to the game will help bridge the gap between solo q and swf more.
yes some people don't use the hud correctly, that does not take away from how comms like pre made messages and seeing perks would help soloq players and fill in the gaps where the hud is not helpful / giving information a SFW would already have.
even if you think the true power of SWF isnt comms, there shouldn't be a issue adding it.0 -
i mainly played solo and the main reason solo sucks is your teammates are garbage
when i play survivor i look at the hud while i do gens (since i have nothing better to do) while one person is getting chased the other 2 aren't doing a gen and doing something completely unrelated (like a totem or wandering looking for something) and then the killer snowballs

I agree! The only way to make solo closer to swf is adding in game chat where you can freely type what's going on… fe. don't repair the cinema gen first, i'm going for save, etc. I think wheel with predetermined quotes won't be enough. That's the only thing solo q needs to be both less frustrating and more enjoyable.

Give command / chat wheel or extensive menu like back in the original cs.
Maybe even free bond. But then we gotta stop making excuses.
At that point its not the survivor-character at fault.
