Mouse pointer leaving game screen on dual monitor setup since update today

SUMMARY OF THE ISSUE: Been playing DBD on this same system for 4yrs, and this problem only started today since the update. I am running two monitors, and play on full screen mode (dedicated full screen). However now it is possible to move the mouse pointer outside of the game while playing, leading to accidentally clicking on other things while actively playing, and the game losing focus. This makes the game entirely unplayable in this state.
PLATFORM: PC/Steam
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW THE ISSUE OCCURED: Have dual monitors, move mouse until pointer is no longer over DBD, and click.
