Chapter: "Cruel Judgment"
Maniac: "The Judge"
Characteristics:
- Height: Tall
- Movement Speed: 4.6 m/s
- Terror Radius: 40-32 meters
Backstory:
For many years, Lucien de Sangrelev fought for peace and the traditional values he believed must not be defiled by outsiders. He considered the signing of the peace treaty and the mass admission of refugees from other races to be a fatal mistake leading to the decline of his culture. Swearing to preserve the innocence of the city entrusted to him and the honor of his lineage, even if he became its last representative, Lucien vowed that "these savages will not defile their customs."
The iron fist of The Judge fell mercilessly upon every elf, beastman, orc, or goblin who tried to enter the city illegally and blend in with the locals. After capture, he sent them to the dungeons, where they were tortured day after day, after which he personally pronounced their sentence: "public flogging to death," "beheading," "quartering," "The Iron Bull," and other horrific executions. This yielded results - criminals, smugglers, and drug dealers feared him more than God. He could punish instantly or, by sending hint-filled letters, make it clear that he saw your every move.
The "Day of Love" festival became fateful—a holiday for which the Nation's Sovereign and the elven princess with her daughter arrived in the city. That day, a young maiden, the heir to the elven throne, met the no longer young but still stern judge. They fell in love with each other, communicating through letters, exchanging books and gifts. A few years later, they managed to meet at a festival and be alone.
But a few months later, their connection was discovered. Her mother disowned her daughter, for the peace treaty was still too fresh, and such a union was considered an indelible disgrace. As punishment, Lucien was forced to personally flog to death the one he loved. And he did it.
When it was over, he quietly carried her body to his chambers and prayed to the gods for a reunion with her. And then Maria's voice answered him, saying there was a way to get revenge. Donning a silver mask and his snow-white ceremonial robes, Lucien burned the elven village to the ground and killed everyone, including her mother.
Upon returning, he found that even his own people were hunting him. Entering his chambers, he could not find Maria's body. But a mysterious fog emanating from himself whispered in her voice: "Lucien, step into the fog, and we can be together again." And he stepped into it.
Appearance:
- Mask: A smooth silver mask with eye holes.
- Eyes: Green
- Facial Features: Narrow face with a straight nose, sharp and prominent cheekbones, a square and strong-willed chin, thin and tightly compressed lips.
- Clothing: An absolutely white judge's robe with a deep hood and black patterns, chainmail visible in places, white gloves, plate boots visible beneath the judge's robe.
Blood Prestige:
- Mask: A mask completely drenched in blood, only the eyes untouched by it.
- Robe: An absolutely white judge's robe, bloodied like veins running from top to bottom, from the deep hood from which blood slightly trickles down the back of the head, shoulders, and seems to endlessly drip onto the face. Black patterns, bloody handprints. Chainmail visible in places. Gloves completely soaked, from which blood still somehow seeps. The plate boots visible under the judge's robe have become as if black.
Weapon: "Assassin's Arms"
- Book of Repentance and Sword-Cane: The book is bound in a cover of black color and silver metal, and the sword-cane has a pommel in the shape of a praying mantis. The book is on the left, and on the right, on his belt, is the cane upon which his hand rests.
- Animations: The book on the left is closed until he uses an ability, and on the right, on his belt, is the cane upon which his hand rests. During a chase, his hand grabs the hilt. When attacking, with a sharp movement, he draws the sword from the cane and strikes from below upwards.
- After Hit: Lowers the blade down and, with a twist, flicks off the blood before returning it to the cane.
Bloody Assassin's Arms:
- Book of Repentance and Sword-Cane: The book is bound in a cover of black color with bloody veins and silver metal, and the sword-cane's praying mantis pommel has eyes that glow scarlet, and the entire blade is covered in veins and seeps blood. The book is on the left, and on the right, on his belt, is the cane upon which his hand rests.
Music:
- In Menu: Low-frequency, monotonous, oppressive organ tone and quiet, gentle, female vocals in an unfamiliar language, but in them, familiar syllables seem to be heard: "Dead by Daylight" and "Death is not an exit."
The Judge's Terror Radius:
- 40-32 meters (Lullaby or Hum Zone): Low-frequency, monotonous, oppressive organ tone. Echo of a church choir, but distorted, as if coming from underground—unclear, without words, only drawn-out syllables.
- 32-15 meters: Low-frequency, monotonous organ tone and a violin, like a continuation of the organ. Echo of a church choir, but clearer, as if whispering a prayer in an unfamiliar language.
- 15-8 meters: Low-frequency, monotonous organ tone, a violin like a continuation of the organ, and the sound of drums that seems to amplify the hum from the choir's words. Echo of a church choir, but clearer, they seem to loudly recite lines from a gospel verse, and the drum quietly adds weight to their words.
- 8-5 meters: Monotonous organ tone seems to break, a violin like a continuation of the organ, and the sound of drums that seems to amplify the hum from the choir's words. Echo of a church choir, but even clearer, they seem to loudly recite lines from a gospel verse, and the drum loudly adds weight to their words.
- 5-0 meters: Monotonous organ tone breaks, a violin continues the organ, and the sound of drums is like a hum from the choir's words. Echo of a church choir, but even clearer, they seem to loudly recite lines from a gospel verse and, accusing you, point at you, and the drum loudly adds weight to their words, and the sound of bells.
Chase: The organ breaks into dissonance, into chaos. A sharp, alarming drum rhythm appears, beating out the executioner's steps. The choir turns into a gentle, female vocal in an unfamiliar language.
KILLER POWER: "Book of Repentance"
Passive Effect: "Condemnation"
The Judge has a shared "Condemnation" gauge (0-100%) that passively grows for all Survivors simultaneously. Growth rate: +0.5% per second for each living survivor.
Effects at different stages:
- 1st Stage (33%): The auras of all Survivors are periodically (every 25 sec) revealed to The Judge for 2 seconds.
- 2nd Stage (66%): All Survivors receive a -3% penalty to action speeds: repair, healing, cleansing.
- 3rd Stage (100% - "FINAL JUDGMENT"): The ability to use "Final Judgment" is activated.
"FINAL JUDGMENT":
When the "Condemnation" gauge reaches 100%.
- The "Condemnation" gauge can no longer fall below 66%.
- The "Hindered" effect becomes permanent.
- "Rite of Cleansing" lasts 5 seconds longer, and successful completion removes 15% from the shared "Condemnation" gauge.
"Right of Execution": The Judge gains the ability to kill a healthy Survivor and to instantly execute a dying Survivor (without a Mori offering). This activates when the "Condemnation" gauge reaches 100%.
- The auras of all Survivors are revealed to The Judge for 5 seconds after completing the "Right of Execution".
"RITE OF CLEANSING":
- Four "Black Pedestals" appear in random places on the map (visually - dark, rune-covered stands with a book on them).
- A Survivor can approach a pedestal with a book and read it for 10 seconds, passing skill checks.
- Successful completion removes 25% from the shared "Condemnation" gauge.
- During cleansing, the Survivor moans loudly, and their aura is visible to The Judge within a 10-meter radius.
ACTIVE ABILITY:
"WORD OF RIGHTEOUSNESS":
- The Judge opens the "Book of Repentance" for 3 seconds, emitting a powerful sound wave.
- ALL Survivors with the "Hindered" status (at 66% and above) receive the "Oblivious" status effect for 2 seconds and scream, revealing their auras.
- Cooldown: 45 seconds.
"WILL OF THE LAW":
- During a chase, hold the Active Ability Button 2 to charge a dash. Release the button to dash forward in a straight line for 8-10 meters.
- Animation: The Judge presses the book to his chest, and his cloak billows. During the dash, he seems to float above the ground, leaving a trail of black fog and parchment scrolls behind him.
- The dash automatically breaks any pallets The Judge crashes into.
- If the dash successfully hits a Survivor, The Judge performs a slash with his hand and watches the blood run down it.
- If the dash ends in immediate proximity to a Survivor, The Judge immediately performs a basic attack with a short wind-up.
- Turn rate during the dash is severely limited.
- If the dash does not end with a hit on a Survivor, The Judge is slowed for 2 seconds.
- Cooldown: 25 seconds.
"VOICE OF GOD"
- The Judge consecrates an object, turning it into his punishing hand.
- Select the ability, hold the Ability Button 2, you can direct it at:
- Generator - When triggered, the generator explodes, losing 5% progress and grants 10% "Condemnation".
- Pallet (standing or dropped) - When triggered, the pallet is broken (if dropped) or blocked by The Entity for 5 seconds (if standing) and grants 10% "Condemnation".
- Chest - When opened, grants 30% "Condemnation" and destroys the item.
- "Black Pedestal" - When triggered, the "Condemnation" gauge instantly grows by 10%.
- Upon activation, the selected object begins to emit an alarming golden glow and a quiet hum for 60 seconds. After 3 seconds, misty spikes appear on it.
- What happens when a Survivor interacts with an infected object:
- If a healthy Survivor repairs or interacts with the object, they take damage and receive the "Deep Wound" status.
- If an injured Survivor interacts with the object, they receive the "Hemorrhage" status for 45 sec and their aura is revealed for 5 sec.
- If a Survivor with "Deep Wound" interacts with the object, they are immediately put into the dying state.
- Cooldown: 45 seconds. Only 2 traps from different categories can be active simultaneously.

Survivor: Maria Silver-Trail
Backstory:
To everyone, Maria was a symbol of hope—a young elven princess, an ambassador of peace between her people and humans. However, behind her diplomatic mission lay a secret objective. Her mother, the Queen, saw the unyielding Judge Lucien as the main threat, and Maria was given an order: get close to him, study him, and neutralize him. Her weapons were to be her intellect, beauty, and feigned naivety.
Their correspondence began as a subtle duel of two intellects. She sent him philosophical treatises, trying to find a breach in his fanatical armor. But instead of the expected monster, she found a tragic figure—a man of immense will and intellect, crushed by dogma and sincerely believing that his cruelty served a higher good. She saw in him a kindred spirit, another pawn in the great game of thrones.
Gradually, cold calculation gave way to genuine interest, and then—to a forbidden feeling. Maria, against her will, fell in love with her enemy. She was torn between her duty to her people, suffering from his executions, and compassion for the man whose soul was as mutilated as her own.
When their connection was discovered, the Queen Mother declared her a traitor. But in her final hour, Maria committed a final act of defiance. Holding irrefutable evidence of Lucien's crimes, she destroyed it to save the man who had sentenced so many of her kin to death.
In the square, under the gaze of the crowd, she went to her execution not as a victim. Her gaze, filled not with hatred but with bottomless sorrow and forgiveness, became for Lucien more terrible than any torture. Her last whisper became his eternal sentence: "Lucien... my judge... my executioner... I forgive you. Now you will bear our shared sin. Alone."
But her sacrifice was not the end. A dark power, drawn by the depth of their tragedy—her forgiveness and his fall—called her into the Fog.
Maria's Appearance:
- Face and Hair: Her face is framed by delicate, almost fragile features with a slight sharpness betraying her elven heritage. The gaze of huge, almond-shaped eyes the color of molten gold. From under her hairpins, hair of black color falls, streaked with gray strands. This hair falls all the way to her hips.
- Figure: Her physique is an elegant "hourglass."
- Attire: She is clad in a snow-white hanfu made of flowing fabrics that make her figure ghostly and weightless. The sleeves and hem are semi-transparent in places, through which the contours of her body and the Entity's grim landscapes are visible. Exquisite embroidered patterns in turquoise and purple hues creep along the fabric as if alive, forming cherry or lotus blossoms—symbols of purity, life, and rebirth, now an ironic tombstone for her love. Looking closer, one can notice that the stems and branches in the patterns form an ornament, and hidden on the back, peeking out, is a praying mantis embroidered with white threads.
Maria's Blood Prestige Appearance:
- Hair: The hair falling to her hips, once black with gray strands, has now become a dark scarlet color, as if thoroughly saturated with fresh blood. When moving, it seems that individual drops might fall from them.
- Face: The skin is flawlessly white, without a single spot.
- Attire: The snow-white hanfu no longer exists. Now it is a macabre canvas of crimson and rusty-brown stains. The semi-transparent areas of the fabric have stiffened, as if blood has been absorbed into them. The turquoise and purple patterns of flowers barely show through the red veil, like withered memories. And the white praying mantis, hiding in the patterns, now looks as if it has broken free and is ready to kill.
MARIA'S PERKS:
"Price of Love"
- Description: Your sacrifice was in vain, but not meaningless. You are willing to give everything for others.

Can be used 1 time per match.
"Bloodline Legacy"
- Description: Your royal blood and endured sufferings inspire your allies.
- When you are at hook stage 2 and are not on a hook, all other Survivors receive a bonus of +5/7/8% to action speeds (repair, healing, cleansing) when within a 7-meter radius of you. Additionally, your auras cannot be revealed.
"Outcast's Brand"
- Description: Your blood, shed by the will of your beloved, has become a poison for the forces that hold you in this world.
- After you are hit by the Killer (transition to injured or dying state), all totems on the map emit a white aura for 6 seconds, visible to all Survivors.
- If you cleanse one of them, the Killer receives the "Blindness" status effect for 25 seconds. But if the totem is hexed, its cleansing speed is increased by 10%.

This project has been a real grind. I burned out a few times along the way, making gradual progress on the concept. Then, about two months ago, it hit me: I wasn't happy at all with the Killer's power and perks, so I decided to overhaul them completely. My main inspirations were Judge Claude Frollo and the Gypsy Esmeralda. I didn't copy them directly, but rather used their dynamic as a foundation to create my own original take.Creating AI images is tough for me, and the results aren't always great, but I'm going to do my best.
