Morgan Faye was once a sweet, quiet girl.

Her family had recently moved to America, hoping to build a new life. But the language barrier made everything feel impossible. Even the smallest misunderstanding earned harsh scolding from those around them. This new world felt cold, unforgiving, and impatient.

The pressure crushed Morgan. Instead of searching for work as her parents did, she sought comfort in something—anything—that brought her peace.

One day, she discovered a small puppet show on the side of the road.

She couldn’t understand the performers’ words, yet somehow she understood everything. Their movements, their gestures, the way the puppets spoke without speaking—it all resonated with her. She felt seen for the first time since arriving in this strange country.

From that moment, puppetry became her refuge.

Morgan spent every waking hour crafting puppets and marionettes from scraps and discarded materials. She preferred marionettes; controlling them felt different—softer, more expressive. They were cheaper to make and infinitely more rewarding. With practice, she learned to use the simplest ones with surprising grace.

Eventually, she gathered the courage to perform for others. Her marionettes allowed her to communicate with locals despite her limited English. For the first time since leaving Turkey, she felt connected. Accepted. Part of the world.

Then everything changed.

The Faye family was evicted when they could no longer afford rent for their small home. All Morgan had left were her parents… and her puppets.

When her parents fell ill, she had no one to rely on but herself. The weight of survival pressed down on her, and she could not bear it. One by one, her parents slipped away, leaving her truly alone.

All she had now were the puppets she once loved.

But something about them twisted inside her mind. They no longer felt comforting. They felt like mockery—little wooden families smiling while she starved, cracked, and fell apart. Their painted happiness taunted her. Their silent faces reminded her of everything she had lost.

Her future vanished into uncertainty. Her mind frayed like old string.

And when the black fog crept around her, curling between her marionettes and her trembling hands, Morgan did not run.

She welcomed it.

Power: Strings of Agony

Special ability: Entangle

Hold the power button to ready entangle, you get a reticle telegraphing where you're aiming. Pressing the attack button will launch some strings in a small cone in front of you, if they miss, they will dissolve into black smoke. If they hit a survivor, it will pull them in rapidly.

If they get stuck on an object, (fences, rocks, etc.) The strings will snap and the survivor will be released. A survivor being released will hinder the survivor by 20% for 0.5 to 2 seconds depending on distance.

A survivor being pulled directly to the Puppeteer will have her wrap the survivor up, inflicting them with strung.

If they are already strung, the survivor will be released instead.

Special effect: Strung.

Survivors pulled close enough to the Puppeteer will be inflicted with strung.

While a survivor is strung, their UI is covered in red strings, and they have a red string tied to them, floating upwards.

Survivors who aren't strung can cut a survivor's string, taking 5s, this will take priority over healing.

Survivors will lose strung upon being downed.

Special ability: Puppet.

While you have direct line of sight on a strung survivor, hold the secondary power button for 2s to take control of them.

While you are controlling a survivor, you control them in third person, you move at 4.4m/s, they gain a red stain and 20m terror radius, and can do the following actions.

Basic Attack.

Breaking pallets or generators.

Search lockers, (this will only hit survivors, like knights guards.)

Vault windows.

You can not pick up survivors while controlling a survivor.

Survivors will be controlled for a maximum of 15s, being able to wiggle to get out as soon as 10s.

Survivors who come out of control will be incapacitated for 10s.

If you get at least one hit in control, the survivor will lose strung when the control is over.

Crystallized heart from Morgan’s favorite puppet, pulsing with obsession.

Effect:

Maximum control duration reduced to 8s.

While controlling a Survivor:

Breaking pallets, vaulting windows, or damaging generators adds +3s to control timer.

You break pallets in control 25% faster

Hitting a Survivor refreshes the timer to full and pauses the timer until attack cooldown ends.
