"Dead by Daylight has had several Operation Healths this year, but the changes have not been very noticeable. For that reason, I want to present several concrete suggestions that, from a player’s perspective, could genuinely improve the game’s balance, clarity, and overall quality."

🔹 1. Reduction of Excessive Pallets and Problematic Loops

Reduce Excessive Pallets and Problematic Loop Configurations

Proposal:
The current amount of safe pallets and certain tile combinations create excessively strong loops that heavily favor the Survivor side. This results in overly long chases and reduces the Killer’s ability to apply pressure.

Suggestions:

  • Reduce safe pallets in maps with excessive resources.
  • Remove tile combinations that produce infinite or overly strong loops.
  • Periodic reviews of problematic tiles after each update.

Benefit:
Fairer chases and less frustration for both sides.

🔹 2. Slight Terror Radius Reduction

Slight Terror Radius Reduction for Healthier Stealth and Chase Balance

Proposal:
Many Killers have very large Terror Radiuses, which reduces their ability to surprise or set up ambushes. In a horror game, a more controlled TR increases tension and improves Killer pressure without removing variety.

Suggestions:

  • Slightly reduce the base TR for standard Killers.
  • Adjust Killers with unnecessarily high TRs.
  • Preserve the contrast between stealth Killers and standard Killers.

Benefit:
Stronger horror atmosphere and healthier chase dynamics.

🔹 3. Fog Adjustment (Final Version)

Title: Increase Map Fog Density Specifically for Survivors

Proposal:
Fog has been reduced in several updates, decreasing the horror atmosphere and giving Survivors excessive visual information. This also enables abuses like FOV tech and reduces overall tension.

Suggestions:

  • Increase fog density only from the Survivor’s perspective.
  • Keep Killer visibility unchanged.
  • Ensure fog does not negatively affect aura reading or essential gameplay clarity.
  • Reduce unfair advantages from long-distance vision and angle abuse.

Benefit:
Stronger horror atmosphere, less free information, and more honest chases.

🔹 4. Reduce Excessive Survivor Second Chances

Reduce Excessive Survivor Second Chance Mechanics

Proposal:
Survivors currently have too many extra survival tools: perks, items, anti-tunnel mechanics, safe unhooks, and strict slugging limitations. This reduces the impact of good Killer decisions and pushes the game toward a Survivor-sided meta.

Suggestions:

  • Limit overly repetitive or stackable rescue perks.
  • Prevent multiple second-chance effects from stacking in the same match.
  • Reevaluate perks that grant excessive temporary invulnerability.

Benefit:
A game where decisions matter more and outcomes feel earned.

🔹 5. True Ranked / Competitive Mode

Add a True Ranked Mode to Separate Casual and Competitive Players

Proposal:
The lack of a real competitive mode means players of drastically different skill levels are constantly mixed together. This leads to unfair matches for both Killers and Survivors.

Suggestions:

  • A performance-based ranking system.
  • Separation between casual and competitive queues.
  • Cosmetic rewards only, to avoid gameplay advantages.

Benefit:
Fairer matchmaking and a more coherent experience for every skill level.

🔹 6. Consistent Removal of Abusive Bugs and Techs

Consistent Removal of Abusive Techs and Visual Exploits for Both Sides

Proposal:
Killer techs are often removed quickly, while several Survivor techs—such as FOV tech—are still allowed. If the design philosophy is "no techs," it should be applied consistently to both roles.

Suggestions:

  • Establish a clear standard for what is considered an exploit.
  • Remove visual and camera-based techs that grant unfair advantages.
  • Regular reviews after each major update.

Benefit:
A cleaner, more consistent, and more professional competitive environment.

As a player who primarily plays as a killer, these changes might seem a bit unbalanced, but let's remember that DBD is marketed as a horror game; these changes serve to ensure that the killer is actually scary, not shamefull, They would make the gameplay much more immersive and improve the overall quality of the game. If you have anything to say about this, please let me know, and I hope my suggestions are heard by the fog.
