Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

How many matches does it take to get 25k shards and is the houndmaster custom power skin worth it?

During the past forever amount of time I've been playing DBD i always spend my shards before i ever get a legendary or visceral skin because it is so boring to hold on to shards above 10k and i just spend it on a cool looking skin instead of the houndmaster skin hat has a custom power that i wish only to find out when buying pls no spoilers, but is the custom power worth it

I've got 21k shards right now and that took me maybe a month and change, and my last 30 day match count is 450. I've been trying to amass them for the winter stuff so I just try to ignore them and resist the temptation to spend.

The custom power is a different Dog and only you can decide, if it would be worth it for you. For me it would not be worth it, so I will never get this skin.

(Plus, to get the custom power you would also need to play the Outfit which comes with it, because it is a Set. So you ideally have to like both.)

    I don't think it's worth it.

The skin is far too expensive to justify locking the one & only Snug skin HoundMaster has behind it.

Personally I'd just wait until BHVR makes Snug their own cosmetic slot.

That way the skin is 7000 shards instead of... whatever it is currently.

Houndmaster is one of my five mains and I can tell you that the skin is not worth the money and especially not the Iridescent Shards. It has a different dog and some other tiny different things but it is not worth the rarity/price compared to other skins. You should not spend your Iridescent Shards on this skin. Instead, use it to unlock a character or a perk from the shrine, or for a skin that is worth the rarity. Also don't pay real money for that skin - at least not the full price.

In the end, it is up to you (your shards, your decision) but as someone who loves Houndmaster, I have to say that the cosmetic team did a very, very, very bad job with the skin and price.

I'd rather have the skin WITHOUT the custom dog to be honest.

I LOVE the look of the skin. Do not like the look of the dog. I cannot run the skin without using the Dog as well.

Custom power skins are just another case of BHVR not fleshing out a system properly, and it getting abandoned. They need to be a separate cosmetic slot, alongside custom moris. They would sell much better if they were independent of their respective skins where possible.

It's really not worth the visceral rarity. It's the lowest quality compared to other skins of the same rarity with the dog being the only real meaningful change. For the Houndmaster herself its not that great.

It would take around 560 matches based on the numers on the dbd wiki, ignoring first game of the day xp bonus and assuming all matches last 10 minutes and you get an iri emblem in every one.

I honestly cannot say it’d be worth the time grinding them out.
