So, in the Huntress realms, you often hear what sounds like heavy raindrops, or footsteps on soggy ground. If you happen to look, to me they seem like little footprints running around.

Also, they're too heavy for raindrops, and way too large. Also, if it was raindrops, why would they only fall in a line and only in a limited area?

Here's my CFT (Crazy Fan Theory):

In Huntress lore, it mentions that she would kill people going through the Red Forest, but if they happened to have a little girl, she would take her in and try to raise her because she wanted a daughter. But of course, it wouldn't work and all the little girls would die.

Soo…. what if the footsteps are actually the ghosts of all those little girls, running around the Red Forest?

    The footstep sounds are just from players though.

    That said, there is the detail of the voices you can hear if you walk near the edge if the map. Deffinitely adds to the idea of remnants of people who roamed the forsest.
