THE IT CHAPTER

LORE: THE COVALENT CONTRACT

In the vast, shifting dimensions of the Macroverse, the Entity discovered a hunger that mirrored its own—an ancient, shape-shifting consciousness that thrived on the "salting" of human meat through terror. Rather than a struggle for dominance, a symbiotic bargain was struck. The Entity provides an endless cycle of fresh, renewable prey and prevents the Great Sleep from ever claiming the shape-shifter again. In exchange, the Deadlights agrees to "season" the survivors with a level of exquisite, tiered psychological trauma that the Entity could not manifest alone. Together, they have turned the Trials into a gourmet kitchen of despair, where the Deadlights prepares the feast and the Entity provides the flame.

NEW KILLER: THE DEADLIGHTS

The Deadlights (Pennywise) enters the Fog as a tactical, psychological Killer. By leveraging a "Business Partnership" with the Entity, this Killer transforms the survivors' own fear into a mechanical weapon, slowing the match down as their sanity collapses.

KILLER POWER: THE DEADLIGHT INFLUENCE

The Deadlights utilizes Balloons and Phantoms to push survivors through a tiered progression of psychological debuffs based on Fear Tokens.

CORE RULE: THE VOCALIZATION OF FEAR

Any action that results in a survivor gaining a Fear Token (Spider-Snaps, Phantom strikes, or popping Red Balloons) causes that survivor to automatically Scream. This scream reveals their location and contributes tokens toward Killer perks.

BALLOON MANAGEMENT

Red Balloons (Quantity: 3): These are placeable anchors used for map traversal.

Survivor Interaction: Survivors may "Pop" a Red Balloon to disable a teleport location. Doing so immediately grants the survivor +1 Fear Token and causes them to Scream.

The Teleport: The Deadlights may teleport to any Red Balloon, popping it upon arrival.

Recharge Logic: Once a Red Balloon is popped (by a survivor or the Killer), it recharges back into the Killer’s inventory over the course of 30 seconds.

The Blue Sentinel Balloon (Quantity: 1): A permanent, indestructible anchor. The Deadlights may teleport here infinitely and Recall the balloon to relocate it at any time.

THE PROGRESSION OF FEAR

Survivors accumulate Fear Tokens through various interactions. These tokens trigger the following states:

TIER I: COWARDLY (2 Tokens)

Focus Loss: Skill check success zones are reduced in size by 30%.

TIER II: TREMBLING (4 Tokens)

Hallucinations: 4 Randomized AI Phantoms begin patrolling the trial.

Slowdown: Survivors suffer a 10% penalty to all cooperative action speeds.

TIER III: TERRIFIED (6 Tokens)

Auto-Fail: Survivors have a random chance to fail skill checks regardless of player input.

Physical Fear: Survivors are forced into Slow Vaults for all windows and pallets.

The Lockout: Upon Screaming (which occurs automatically when gaining any further tokens), the survivor is incapacitated for 5 seconds.

SPECIAL ABILITIES

The Masquerade: The Deadlights arrives appearing as a random Hunter. It auto-cloaks into this form when out of line-of-sight. To maximize confusion, each survivor sees a different random Hunter (e.g., Survivor A sees The Trapper, while Survivor B sees The Huntress).

Spider-Snap (M1): Attacking from Masquerade causes Pennywise’s hand to instantly morph into a jagged spider pincher. A successful hit grants +1 Fear Token, causes a Scream, and reveals the true form.

The Float State (8 Tokens): Upon reaching 8 Fear Tokens, the survivor transcends Tier III and enters the Float State. The survivor levitates, becomes fully incapacitated, and is susceptible to a unique In-Match Mori.

NEW TEACHABLE PERKS

POP! POP! POP!

Whenever a survivor fails a skill check on a generator, the generator suffers 5 consecutive 2% explosions for a total of 10% instant regression. The generator is blocked by the Entity during the rhythmic popping sequence.

THE RITUAL OF CHÜD

The Entity demands a chorus of terror. After survivors have Screamed 10 times total throughout the trial (via tokens, failed checks, or powers), the perk activates. The next time you hook a survivor, the Entity’s Claws emerge to block the hook for 60 seconds.

HEX: YOU'LL FLOAT TOO

Isolation is the greatest predator. While the Hex Totem stands, your chases with the Obsession are shrouded in a supernatural veil. Both you and the prey become Invisible and silent to all other survivors.

ULTRA-RARE ADD-ON HIGHLIGHT

The Deadlights’ Mask: You remain in your Masquerade form for the entire duration of the trial, even after attacking. However, you no longer collect Fear Tokens from Spider-Snap (M1) attacks.

SURVIVOR COUNTER-PLAY: FIGHTING THE FEAR

The Snap Out: A teammate can perform a "Snap Out" action to reduce a survivor's Fear count by 2 tokens.

Paper Boats: Unique map props that appear once a survivor reaches Tier II. Collecting a Paper Boat reduces Fear by 1 token and provides a brief Haste effect.

I am definitely going to read all of this bc such an amazing concept you got there and since The Deadlights is almost the level of The Entity cosmic-wise maybe lore-wise it would make sense that the deadlights would join the fog to accompany the entity and giving his pennywise form a killer role in the realm. Your concept is actually closer to this side so hopefully it will come out this way if they ever wanna consider a collab

this is awesome, just so you know, you don’t mention what phantom strikes are, also, change “hunters” to killers so that people can easier understand
