Dead by Daylight DC Penalties

Hey so I think the latest DBD matchmaking bans system is really punishing towards its players and unfair in some situations. Personally I think there should be a better solution to reduce penalties than having to play 20 games to decrease Penalty points.. for someone who really has problems with their internet connection sometimes, the current system is very punitive and unfair. I'm a working person who likes to play, but I don't have enough time to play 20 games every time my internet connection goes down and causes my game to crash and I'm kicked out of the game, and if you don't have time to play so many games in a row then your penalty will only increase every time your internet connection kicks you out of the match because you haven't played 20 games.. For some players, this current system can and does cause a frustrating cycle where you can't completely get rid of the penalty even if you try and don't intentionally DC for the match. In my opinion, the old matchmaking ban system was better where players' penalty points reset after 24 hours compared to the current one. I really hope that some change is made to the matter, so that even our working or otherwise busy people who like to play but don't have time for 20 games can get some relief from this new system.

And I know that there are a lot of players who intentionally DC when they get angry or if a survivor doesn't want to play against a certain killer, and for such players this current system is certainly fine, but it's just very problematic for those who don't do it intentionally and still want to play and enjoy the game.

Well still its not Behavior's fault either if your internet connection is bad and they have no responsibility to cater to those that have bad connection and still decide to play online game that demands good connection.

hey, so I know this isn't Behavior's fault and I'm not blaming them, I was just giving feedback on what this site is even for and wanted to point out something I think could be improved. I would like to add that my internet is not always bad or kicking me out, but sometimes there can be days when, for example, the environment causes the internet to weaken which causes the internet to go down or there may be a problem with the servers. What I'm trying to say is that when you're a person who works for 8 hours a day and has other things to do but also wants to play, then there simply isn't enough time to play 20 games to reduce your own penalty points that you may not have even intentionally acquired. I don't know if you understand what I'm getting at, but I'm trying to say that if your internet crashes, you'll initially get a 5-minute ban, after which you can continue playing again and it may be that the rest of the time you can play in peace without any problems, but if you don't have time to play 20 games after that, then the next time you hop into the game and if something similar happens, your ban will continue or stay the same depending on how many games you played the last time you were playing and it causes a frustrating cycle. I hope this has clarified things a bit. I would also like to add that the internet is not necessarily the only thing that can suddenly crash a game. For example, if you are playing on a pc and a new update happens to be released on your computer while you are playing, that can also cause the game to crash. I don't think players should be punished for something they didn't cause and with even small changes this new penalty system would certainly be fairer even for those who don't intentionally DC.

for someone who really has problems with their internet connection

Sorry but, literally a you problem, not a game problem. You should have a stable connection if you want to play online games, this is for you or your ISP to sort out.

Having a lax (and DBD's one already is) DC penalty will just be abused by people to ruin the game without getting punished, and its simply not fair to everyone else that they have to suffer to cater to people with inadequate and spotty connections. There's many methods to circumvent such an open and unpunishing penalty system. If anything DBD's system needs to be harsher.

I think I understand what you're saying, and I'm not saying that the DC penalty should be removed, it's good that there are penalties in DBD and players who leave the game on purpose are punished and I think that's how it should be! But in my opinion, the old system was just better and simpler and I don't really see the reason why it had to be changed. I think the current system is also otherwise good, but the number of games to play could be reduced a little. I think 20 games is just a bit too much, especially for people whose free time doesn't consist of just gaming.

I also feel like I may have written my main feedback a little poorly or could have expressed it a little better, but my internet doesn't throw me out or crash every time I play, but I think it's just annoying if something like that happens in the middle of a match and the game throws you out without you intentionally causing it, so you get punished for it and to get the punishment removed, you have to play a lot of matches, especially if you just can't spend as much time on the game as you would like.
