The Slime — a new killer with five forms
Lore: The Slime
It came from the sky millions of years before humanity. During the Jurassic period, a small meteorite fell into a swampy area. Inside, in a perfect vacuum capsule, drifted a drop of alien life — a primitive creature driven by pure instinct: to grow, to absorb, to adapt. For millions of years it crawled along the swamp bottom, feeding on microorganisms. But when the Chicxulub meteor struck and the world plunged into darkness, the creature followed the retreating warmth north. It reached the territory of modern Siberia, but there the cold overtook it. The Ice Age froze it in permafrost. The Slime froze but did not die. It waited. In 1968, Soviet geologists drilled into the permafrost searching for minerals. At 300 meters depth, they found a perfectly round cavity in the ice — and inside it, an organic substance pulsing with faint light. The sample was delivered to the classified underground research facility NII-12. The project was codenamed "Experiment 76." Scientists discovered that the creature's cells could imitate any tissue, regenerate in seconds, and copy the behavior of living organisms. It learned. It grew. It watched them. They fed it mice. Then rabbits. Then it demanded more. On March 15, 1972, the creature escaped its capsule. Security burst into the laboratory and saw something indescribable — the creature stood over a lab assistant's body, its form constantly shifting: now a human hand, now a tentacle, now the guard's own face twisted into a horrific grin. It moved through the bunker, absorbing everyone in its path. It sucked people into itself, studied their memories, copied their faces, voices, fears. It called to the survivors using their comrades' voices, luring them into traps. It laughed with children's voices and cried with the voices of the elderly. By morning, the entire personnel of NII-12 had ceased to exist. Some were dissolved, others became part of the creature, still others simply vanished, leaving behind only puddles of sticky slime. The bunker fell silent. But above it, black mist gathered. When the mist cleared, the bunker was gone. Along with the laboratories, corridors, chambers, permafrost, and the thing that dwelled within. Now that place is part of another world. And the creature that slept for millions of years and awoke to consume all living things continues its hunt where the black mist became eternal.
Power: Shape Shifter
The Slime is an alien organism capable of completely reshaping its body. It has five unique forms and can switch between them using the Form Constructor.
The Form Constructor can only be accessed while in The Slug form. Press the power button to open the selection menu. Switching forms takes 1 second and has a 50-second cooldown after each transformation.
Each form has its own unique abilities, movement speed, camera perspective, and terror radius mechanics. The Slime must strategically choose the right form for each situation — reconnaissance, combat, stealth, or psychological warfare.
Form 1: The Slug
The Slug is the basic reconnaissance and map preparation form. The Slime starts the match in this form. Only in this form can The Slime access the Form Constructor to switch to other forms.
- Camera: First-person view, similar to Krasue's "Headlong Flight" mode
- Movement speed: 4.2 m/s
- Terror radius: 20 meters (with special mechanics)
Appearance:
A small creature about the size of Chucky, made of translucent blue slime. Three heads protrude from its body, all composed of the same slime. The central head belongs to a man with short hair, frozen in a disturbing wide smile, eyes completely white without pupils — bright white, glowing. To the left and behind the central head are two other heads: one of a woman with wavy hair, another of an elderly bald man. They have the same bright white glowing eyes without pupils. These two side heads are frozen in silent screams, mouths wide open, while the central head only smiles. On the rear part of the body there's a snail-like shell structure. The entire body is translucent blue with a wet, slimy shine.
Movement features:
- Can crawl under dropped pallets, ignoring them
- Can climb through windows, but does so slowly (6 seconds) — The Slug literally flows through the window opening like thick liquid, stretching its body
Ability 1: Mold Infection
The Slug can infect breakable walls with "slime mold." An infected wall remains under the effect for 60 seconds. When The Slime later transforms into The Slime Monster or Mimic: Enemy, any infected wall within 3 meters automatically breaks.
Ability 2: Form Constructor
Press the power button while in The Slug form to open the form selection menu. Switching takes 1 second and has a 50-second cooldown after each form change. The Form Constructor is unavailable in other forms. The Form Constructor allows switching to the following forms — The Slime Monster, Mimic: Friend, and Mimic: Enemy.
Limitations:
- Cannot attack survivors
- Cannot break walls or pallets
- Damages generators slowly
Weakness: If The Slug is stunned (except by flashlight or flashbang) or kicked by a survivor, it instantly transforms into The Puddle form.
Form 2: The Puddle
The Puddle is a transit form that allows The Slime to move through obstacles and set up ambushes.
- Camera: Third-person view, positioned above the puddle surface — similar to Vecna's (Henry Creel) movement through the Upside Down
- Movement speed: 3.7 m/s
- Terror radius: 20 meters (with special mechanics)
- Collision: None — survivors can walk through and stand on the puddle
Appearance:
A formless puddle of slime on the ground. The puddle pulsates, shifting between shades of blue. Inside the puddle, human faces occasionally appear — ghosts of absorbed victims who open their mouths in silent screams and then dissolve again. The surface becomes mirror-like when still, reflecting distorted images with black voids instead of eyes.
Ability 1: Regeneration
The puddle slowly regenerates. When the regeneration bar fills completely, The Slime automatically returns to The Slug form.
Ability 2: Attack Mode
Activated by holding RMB. The puddle begins to bubble, and human faces emerge in silent screams — the ghosts of absorbed victims.
- Mode lasts 15 seconds
- During this mode, Regeneration is paused
- When the time expires, the puddle returns to normal mode
Two attacks are available in this mode:
Tentacle Attack (LMB)
A slime tentacle rises from the puddle and immediately attacks in the direction of the camera. The tentacle damages any survivor it hits. After the attack, regardless of whether it hits a survivor or misses, The Puddle immediately returns to its normal form.
Spike Attack (RMB)
Spikes rapidly rise from the puddle, damaging all survivors standing on the puddle at the moment of activation. After the attack, regardless of whether it hits any survivors or not, The Puddle immediately returns to its normal form.
Special feature:
The Puddle can move through any obstacles, including windows, breakable walls, dropped pallets, and low structures. It completely ignores map geometry that would block other forms.
Limitations:
- Cannot break generators, pallets, or walls
- Cannot pick up survivors
Terror Radius Mechanics — The Slug & The Puddle
Both The Slug and The Puddle share unique terror radius mechanics that work differently:
- Terror radius: 20 meters for both forms
- No red stain — survivors cannot see where The Slime is looking
- Two-layer terror music:
- 0–10 meters: 4th layer music plays (same intensity as The Monster form's terror radius)
- 11–20 meters: 5th layer music plays (same intensity as The Monster form's terror radius)
- Cannot start a chase — even if The Puddle successfully hits a survivor with tentacle or spike attacks, chase music does not activate and the survivor receives no chase indicator
Form 3: The Slime Monster
The Monster is The Slime's main combat form — a humanoid creature built for direct confrontation.
- Camera: First-person view (standard killer camera)
- Movement speed: 4.5 m/s
- Terror radius: 32 meters (standard terror radius mechanics with red stain)
Appearance:
A tall humanoid creature made of translucent blue slime, standing upright. The body constantly drips slime. The creature's head is non-human, slime-based, drop-shaped, slightly melting downward. Two small bright white glowing eyes are set close together on the head. Above them are furrowed brows made of slime. The head has irregular holes functioning as eyes and mouth — these holes have dripping edges, creating a decaying appearance, with dark emptiness visible inside. The head shape is irregular, close to drop-shaped, as if melting downward. All over the creature's body, slime human faces emerge and dissolve, frozen in silent screams, mouths wide open, with bright white glowing eyes without pupils. The creature has medium height, humanoid proportions but slightly unnatural — arms slightly longer than human, legs powerful and slightly bent.
Ability: Slime Leap
The Monster can charge a leap by holding the power button, moving slowly while charging (similar to The Puddle's movement speed). When released, it performs a powerful leap in the direction of the camera.
- If the leap hits a survivor, they take damage. After the leap, The Slime transforms into The Slug form
- If the leap hits a survivor, the Form Constructor cooldown is reduced by 50%
- If the survivor is put into the dying state by the leap, The Slime remains in The Monster form and the form timer resets to zero
- If the leap misses, The Slime transforms into The Slug form with no bonus
Time limit: The Monster form has a limited duration. The timer stops while The Monster is carrying a survivor and also freezes during stuns for the entire stun animation duration. After hooking a survivor, the timer resets.
Actions:
- Can attack survivors
- Can pick up and hook survivors
- Can break generators, pallets, and breakable walls
Form 4: Mimic — Friend
Mimic: Friend is a infiltration and psychological warfare form. The Slime takes on the appearance of one of the survivors in the match.
- Camera: Third-person view (identical to survivor camera perspective)
- Movement speed: 4.0 m/s (running), 1.54 m/s (walking), 0.9 m/s (crouching) — exactly matching survivor movement speeds
- Terror radius: None
- Appearance: Perfectly copies the selected survivor, including their cosmetic outfit. No visual differences from a real survivor.
Target Selection:
While in The Slug form, open the Form Constructor. Next to each survivor's portrait, a blue indicator appears. Select a target and confirm with M2. The Slime transforms into that survivor's exact appearance. After transformation, the real survivor's aura is revealed for 30 seconds.
Ability 1: Sabotage
If you join a survivor repairing a generator, you can activate Sabotage. To do this, you must hit the skill check's perfect zone 3 times in a row. After this, skill checks stop appearing for you, repair speed slows down, and the ability becomes available for activation.
- Upon activation: The generator explodes, loses 15% progress, all survivors who were repairing it take damage, and The Slime transforms into The Slug form
- If at least one survivor is put into the dying state by the explosion, The Slime transforms into The Slime Monster form instead
Ability 2: Treacherous Medicine
Works similarly, but while healing a survivor (must be healing alone). After activation, The Slime instantly transforms into The Monster and picks up the survivor.
Special Mechanic: Absorption
If the survivor already has two hook stages, instead of Treacherous Medicine, Absorption activates — a instant Mori execution. After Absorption, the Mimic: Friend form permanently retains that survivor's appearance for the rest of the match. The survivor's status for the rest of the team shows that everything is normal with them.
Limitations:
- Cannot attack survivors
- Cannot break any objects (generators, pallets, walls)
- Cannot open chests or cleanse totems
- If stunned or blinded (flashlight, flashbang, pallet stun, etc.), instantly transforms into The Slug for
Form 5: Mimic — Enemy
Mimic: Enemy is a psychological warfare form. The Slime takes on the appearance of a random original killer, copying their appearance, terror radius, and chase music.
- Camera: First-person view (identical to the copied killer's perspective)
- Movement speed: 4.5 m/s
- Terror radius: Matches the copied killer's terror radius
- Appearance: Perfectly copies the selected original killer's visual appearance
Ability: Slime Leap
The same leap ability as The Slime Monster form is available. The Slime can charge and perform a powerful leap in the direction of the camera.
- If the leap hits a survivor, they take damage. After the leap, The Slime transforms into The Slug form
- If the leap hits a survivor, the Form Constructor cooldown is reduced by 50%
- If the survivor is put into the dying state by the leap, The Slime transforms into The Monster form
- If the leap misses, The Slime transforms into The Slug form with no bonus
Time limit: Mimic: Enemy form has a limited duration. After the time expires, The Slime returns to The Slug form.
Special feature: The copied killer is randomly selected from the pool of original Dead by Daylight killers only (no licensed characters to avoid copyright issues). The Slime does not copy the killer's abilities — only appearance, terror radius, and chase music.
Actions:
- Can attack survivors
- Can pick up and hook survivors
- Can break generators, pallets, and breakable walls
Memento Mori: Internal Infection
Available only in The Monster form.
The Slime approaches the dying survivor and looms over them. With one hand, it grabs the survivor's face, squeezing their jaw until their mouth opens wide. Slowly, it pushes its other hand inside the victim's mouth.
The survivor's body begins to convulse violently — arms and legs twitching, back arching in agony. Suddenly, streams of slime begin erupting from every part of their body: eyes, ears, nose, even pores. The slime bursts out in thin, pulsating jets.
The victim's skin darkens and blisters as the slime consumes them from within. Black veins spread across their flesh, and weeping sores open across their body.
The Monster slowly withdraws its hand from the survivor's mouth, slick with slime and dissolved tissue.
The lifeless body falls to the ground with a heavy thud, skin blackened and covered in weeping blisters. Dark stains remain where it lies.
The Monster shakes its hand, droplets of slime falling to the ground, and turns away — already searching for its next victim.
Addons:
Iridescent Addons:
Vengeful Slime
Instead of "Regeneration" in Puddle form, The Slime teleports to the nearest survivor within 10 meters and instantly transforms into The Monster form.
Timid Slime
After an involuntary transition into The Slug form (from time expiring in Slime Monster/Mimic: Enemy, after using Slime Leap, or after a successful Sabotage), The Slime gains +10% movement speed for 10 seconds.
Metabolism Report
Absorption can be used unlimited times. However, the absorbed survivor's appearance only lasts 60 seconds, after which The Slime automatically transforms into The Slug form. (Can be combined with Timid Slime)
Vitality Report
Infected breakable walls remain infected for 120 seconds (instead of 60).
