Game is dying

I stopped playing for a while because let's be honest. It was appalling to play.

I've come back and had another go recently and oh my god, you're not even hiding how little you care anymore. It's absolutely ruined. It's just a cash grab now.

You can tell you do not care about the player experience at all.

Pandering go a few random streamers like they actually matter. They don't. They are just other randoms who play the game. All killers might I add which is a role that requires literally 0 skill to play.

You nerfed distortion to death making it a dead perk because killers cried it's unfair to hide, in a game you still label as hide and seek on your own website.

You said you wanted to encourage chases, yet in the same patch you gutted distortion you added a perk that if the survivor had the audacity to escape a chase, you reveal their aura for 8 seconds.

Lets not forget most killers also have lethal so aura reveal at start, BBQ, so aura reveal on hooks, nowhere to hide, so aura reveal on gens. Plus 100 other aura perks.

And on encouraging chases, what's the point, if you're good at it, doesn't matter, killers then get a speed boost to compensate for their failures.

Maps are designed for killer movement, killers don't have 4 perks they have 6 all with no consequence.

Yet survivor perks are pathetic. Gain endurance for 0.5 secs if you cleans a totem perform a dance, pray to a full moon, rummage a chest and develop a rocket, oh but you'll become broken, injured, frozen in place for 80 seconds.

There is no balance, it is not a game it's a death simulator.

4k is easy.

Every game the same, aura reveal, tunnel , slug repeat.

Oh yea, anti tunnel and anti slug was a plan wasn't it, until one YouTuber cried and so you scrapped it.

Even dog vials, you introduced them, no one thought anything was wrong with them, one YouTube had a hissy fit and now they are another wasted item.

And on that note why have so many offerings no one ever wants needs or uses and we can't sell them? And why are they linked to a survivor and not the account?

Play your own game, put some effort in and make it fun again, stop pandering to killers they aren't the only people who play.

Getting a 4k is as easy as spelling your own name.

Just to add to the other post this game has about 20k more players currently than it had last year and that is just on Steam so saying this game is dying is not supported by any visible indicator other than people telling it is on forums and discussion boards for years already.

I have 800 hours in game, 60% of that as killer with a 74% kill rate and 40% time as survivor with a 24% escape rate.

    Please don't make assumptions

Your inability to grasp things is more of a you problem than me.

I could lost another 50 odd problems with the game but I won't.

Its clear the aim now is, release release release take the money and ignore the game play.

Also I haven't stopped playing. Just less either way both roles are boring. Killer is a casual 4k most games, survivor is a death simulator.

The Devs have given up on it. In that sense it's dying. It's just cash grab from licenses. No actual gameplay progress

Oh ok so them stating that they are basically going to run this game for another ten years is your opinion them giving up.

Posts like these actually convince me the Devs don't cater to only one side. The reason being, for every post like this you just get as many people claiming the Devs only care about survivors and go on to make their laundry list as to why.

I said it reads like that assumption would be fair, which it does. You type like someone that does not play killer or has played very limited amounts of killer, crushed some fresh installs and concluded that it's easy. Against good survivors, killer is difficult. that's inarguable.

It's very easy to boil down the diversity of opinion and evidence of a set group of people by claiming they're all parroting a streamer that they might not have even seen. Please don't tell me not to assume things, when you assume so much yourself. It reads again like you don't understand the impact the PTB-that-shall-not-be-named would have had on the killer experience, and can only engage with the impact on survivors.

I'm seeing a disconnect with what you expect the game to be, versus what it's turned into. Your fixation on aura reading and the inability to hide, as well as citing the game as being referred to as "hide and seek" indicates this is the gameplay loop you look for. You stealth as survivor primarily.

Unfortunately, I'd agree with you that stealth is not the core gameplay loop. It can work situationally but, to be honest, as a primary method of survival it's not only ineffective longer term, but also can make things harder on your team by forcing the killer to focus on fewer people. Maybe they could do with updating how the game is advertised/described.

To be honest, having the game remain stealth focused was never going to work. Killer variety would bottom out if they had to design them all with the basic idea that finding the survivors is the bulk of play time. You're welcome to play stealthily if that's what you enjoy, but it is not going to work in most situations.

    (data from steamdb)

its literally not. you can see a general upwards trend even amongst the mountains and valleys of content releases. and this is just steam numbers - we have no idea how much the game has grown on console as improvements continue to be made, like the addition of M&K or more console platforms as time has gone on.

ppl need to stop saying "the game is dying" and start using the phrase "i don't like", instead.

(ps: before someone says "what about that dip from february to march 2026" march is a slow month pretty much every year (except for March 2024 bc of Blood Moon) - you can check!)

additionally, adding together my winrates on my two mains, i have a 44% escape rate on survivor across nearly 3000 survivor matches - and on my newer main, Taurie, its 54% across ~550 matches. my kill rates are close to 60% on basically every killer i have any amount of time put in on, including a 61% kill rate on skull merchant - a killer i almost exclusively played post-execution, across 56 matches.

so maybe - just maybe - the game isnt benefitting one side or the other. its just that the better player tends to win more. there are exceptions, of course - cheaters, absolutely stacked builds against players running next to nothing - but in general? i think "Getting a 4k is as easy as spelling your own name." is a gross misrepresentation of how strong or weak either role is right now.

beHaviour just needs to buff soloQ players so they have base aura reading on their teammate's position, can see generators with progress etc so that they have the same info as coms players.

Right now soloQ players without aura reading are barely able to get a heal off without completely throwing the game, assuming it's not off hook

Honestly one big change is I'd like to be able to see when a team mate has a status effect like exposed. They do it for killer powers after all.
