Can we talk about Vietnamese Horror for a future Chapter?

I’ve been thinking a lot about where the Fog could go next, and I really feel like Vietnam is an untapped goldmine for DBD. We’ve seen some incredible representation with the Japanese and Korean chapters, but Vietnamese horror has a completely different "vibe"—it’s humid, claustrophobic, and deeply tied to ancestral karma and folklore that hasn't really been seen in Western games yet.

The Aesthetic: Instead of just more "ghosts," Vietnam offers a really specific visual style. Imagine a Killer or Survivor in traditional Áo ngũ thân or Áo tấc. When those garments are tattered or blood-stained, the silhouette is haunting and unique. Combine that with a map set in a Nhà Rường (an ancient wooden manor) filled with heavy incense smoke, altars, and bamboo groves... the atmosphere would be insane.

The Horror: There’s a huge boom in Vietnamese indie horror right now (like The Scourge/Tai Ương), and it shows how well the "ancestral guilt" theme works. Whether it’s something grounded in rural legends like the Ma Lai, or a historical figure tied to a family curse, it fits the Entity’s realm perfectly.

Why it works: The community is always asking for "atmosphere," and the humid, heavy dread of a Vietnamese jungle or a decaying colonial-era mansion is exactly that. Plus, the Vietnamese horror community is massive and would show up in a huge way for this.

I just wanted to put this on the radar. BHVR, if you’re looking for a culture with deep roots and a terrifying visual identity, please look into Vietnam!
