Does Stake Out need a tweak?
Before I get downvoted, this isn't a call for a nerf, more of a question than anything.
So I've been thinking about Stake Out a lot, as someone who runs it a lot with Hyperfocus. When Fast Track changed, it made me think more that Stake Out really just makes good perks better or broken when it comes to gen skillchecks. It also makes Fogwise and Corrective Action more consistent as well, which is a lesser extent of my point.
Speaking of Corrective Action, remember when it changed to turn missed skillchecks into great skillchecks, and how fast it was changed because of it's synergy with Hyperfocus? I do. That's more of an issue than Stake Out is, but with how BHVR keeps trying to make perks that give a huge bonus for great skillchecks, Stake Out is becoming a bit of a powerful synergy for them, and it makes me wonder if it could be a bigger problem down the line.
When the new Boon: Steadfast was shown and how lopsided it is, I realized that yeah, if it were stronger we'd have an issue if Stake Out synergizes with it too. As of the current preview of Steadfast, if it were paired with Stake Out it wouldn't be a massive problem. But if it were stronger? Who knows. It could be bad.
That said, I still really like Stake Out, but I'd like to see it slightly tweaked to not activate GSC effects so we can have these other perks be strong on their own, and make it have more of a power of it's own. Problem is, I can't really think of anything to suggest because the synergy is really fun on perks like Fogwise and Corrective Action when they do work. And the only other suggestion I can think of is it just boosts repair/heal % given per stack used so it can be used for both gen repair and healing.

The problem is, what can you change?
Maybe if it got the Distortion treatment? So you would only get stacks in chase? Or, alternatively, be very close to the killer (8 m) instead of just in the TR

I dont think Stake Out needs any changes. I mean, you mention Fogwise and Corrective Actions as part of your argument and this already shows that your argument is not really strong. Those are super niche Perks and are completely fine, even with Stake Out.
The actual value Perk is Hyperfocus. And I think at this point a Survivor is investing two Perk Slots into their Build for this AND Stake Out does not really grant consistent value IMO. The Combo Stake Out/Hyperfocus was really popular when Wesker released, simply because RPD was boosted (after its Rework a small map) and he has 40m Terror Radius. But once you did not go against Wesker every game and did not end up on RPD that often, the Perk value dropped.
And I think the current userate is ok and shows that it is a Perk Combination worth taking without being too good. Simply because the value you gain is not consistent. It depends on the Killer and the map you are on. And that it is better against the Killer with huge Terror Radius is actually a good thing.

I pointed out that it's fun with Fogwise and Corrective Action though? It wasn't an argument, it's just a viewpoint of someone who loves Stake Out.
And personally, I think Hyperfocus is just one issue and if BHVR keeps releasing more great skillcheck perks, it could snowball into an issue.1 -
I think the problem is that Stake Out is just a bad perk by itself. If you remove the syngery it has with other perks you just create a perk no one would ever consider.

I think Stake Out is alright, to be honest. Its only real value is its synergy with Hyperfocus, but even that isn't problematic or strong enough to warrant changes.

That's the biggest problem I have with it too. Sometimes I think it's TOO good with synergy that it could kneecap future perk combinations that also require GSC's.
But as you said, it's bad by itself and there's no real change that can be made to make it good by itself.1 -
I think it could use an adjustment I just don't know what or how but I do feel like there are better ways to go about it.

Could just be that stake out would still convert good into great, but those great would have - 50 % progress towards great skillcheck. With 6 stacks of hyperfocus you get 2.7 % bonus, with stake out it's 3.7 %. So it would result in you getting only 1.72 % bonus but will still correct the skillchek to preserve stacks.
