retaining items after a match is a reward for those that git gud. Be glad you even have it, since killers lose their addons regardless of match outcome.

Sometimes I'll bring in something to help me live, but most of the time killers have franky's or you just don't live, so can't keep your item. I usually don't bring anything.

So, what's the point of all these items we get from Bloodweb?0 -

Killers also score way more per match on average
Survivors also score way more per hour on average

why? you'll just state it won't change your mind :chuffed:
In all seriousness, most of the gameplay stats have been discussed on the dev streams, and some have been calculated by users here on the forums from that information. If you're so inclined, look it up yourself.

YOU dying 85% of the time does not mean EVERYONE dying 85% of the time.
go play some killer before you come here and complain how unfair and OP killers are.

Having an item is meant to change your game. Believe it or not, even if you die your item can still have an impact to where your teammates can still make use out of it.

Unless you have a White Ward, EVERYONE loses their item add-ons .
Survivors bring an item into match (Tool Box / Med Kit etc) and have a slim chance of leaving with it if they perform fantastically well against all odds regardless of the comparatively overwhelming odds they must face.
Killers bring an item into match (weapon) and leave with it every time by default regardless of their performance.

....what? Survivors don't lose addons to an item if they don't lose or use up the item. The only exception to that are addons that are intended to be used up, like insta heals or BNP.
Also define "Slim Chance." If you have a slim chance of surviving, that kinda goes back to the Git Gud clause, especially since survival rates are exceptionally higher at higher ranks.
The weapon comment is a strawman. Survivors enter the match with hands to throw pallets which killers can't do for some reason, so I guess that follows the same line of reasoning? Actually, that would be kinda hilarious if we had a killer who could throw pallets to stun survivors...

I usually 4K with Killer
Without using BBQ&C btw
doesn't change the fact that survivor winrate is 40%

2. Thanks again for being helpful0 -
To help you survive. If you don't use them, they're just going to sit there collecting dust. Worst case scenario you lose it, but it's better to use it and lose it then never use it at all.
I will say, though, that dying 85% of the time is pretty anecdotal and not necessarily the case for everyone.

you might die less if you bring in a toolbox to get gens done quicker or a medkit so you don't have to rely on self care and open up your perks better. Not only that, a key is frankly overpowered and can save 2-3 survivors and bypass the killers end game build.

. . Well if we look at it from a non linear mind set:
A Killers version of a "Pallet", (being a persistent tool that is taken from match to match for both Survivor and Killer) is their unique abilities which they carry with them wherever they go. Survivor's of cause don't have that same portability with their pallets or windows because that would be silly.
Killers also have Bamboozle to use the environment against Survivors but that's getting a little too nuanced for this explanation of persistent tools.
And Survivors still don't get to take their version of a "weapon" with them (Tool Box / Flash Light etc) from match to match, but Killer does.
