If anyone is confused about the "Surprise 1 survivor(s) at portals" quest
It requires a survivor to start absorbing points from a portal, which gives you a prompt to immediately teleport across the map to that portal from anywhere so "surprise" them.
Its a very vague quest description and despite survivors having a quest to absorb points from portals rarely anyone ever tries.

I think I saw this during the first few days of the event and didn't know what was going on. A purple killer instinct at a portal. Now we have a quest for it and no one tries absorbing points.

Same. Saw it at the start had no idea what it was. They gave survivors a quest now to absorb points, but it doesnt take much to finnish so nobody needs that quest by the time they get to your lobby either.

Another obvious sign that whoever or whatever designs the quests doesn't actually play the game.

@BHVR We actually need a comment on this one.
This quest is beyond unfair for killer players to complete. Because of a few things:
- It's dependent on a VERY rare action for survivors to take.
- It's RNG and if there are multiple teleporters open, you might not pop on the one being used.
- You have to be close to a teleporter, get to one, AND channel the teleport… All before the survivor completes their side.
The conditionals for this are outlandish. I think I can count on one hand the number of times I've seen a survivor actually doing that action after playing most of the day yesterday on killer.

It does seem to have a decent range to teleport to someone using the portal. I was able to teleport halfway through the map on erie of crows without being near a portal

Yeah, haven't mentioned to complete this one yet. It is hard to find a game where survivors absorb energy from portals, most people either get it from gens and pumpkins or they simply don't interact much with the event.

So you have had 5 opportunities in your games yesterday - you'll be able to get 1 more in the next 2 weeks. Not that outlandish.

I played for 8+ hours yesterday. I'm usually able to knock out weekly's in a couple of hours of play.
Saying "You'll be able to get it at least once over the next two weeks" kind of supports my point that it's an unrealistic quest for the bulk of the player base.

It's cute that you think Survivors will try absorbing points from a portal after their quest is over, and it's already over for most of them.

I just carried a survivor too the portal and swung at it a bunch and was able to get easily. traded escape for helping me do quest 😂

When i tried the friendly route for 5 games in a row they just looked at me like "you want me to teleport through? Ok?" And they just keep teleporting lol

Hey there! We're actively collecting feedback on how folks feel about this, so rest assured, I've taken notes from this thread, including the notes about channeling feeling rare.
To help out, though, I did want to clarify that you don't need to be at a portal in order to trigger this surprise on a channeling Survivor. If a nearby Survivor is channeling a portal and you have enough energy, you will get a prompt on-screen to hold to teleport from where you are, popping out of the portal they were channeling.

I just played my first killer games of the event and was shocked by the range of this ability. I don't know if it is map-wide, but feels like it.
It's no wonder I see so many people DCing and calling the killer a hacker when this happens.

I hate being snarky, but yeah, could you guys actually put in better descriptions whether it be challenges or perk descriptions. It took me quite a while to figure out what they were asking for and in probably about 25 killers games I've maybe seen the purple notification some up a grand total of five times.
Of course all of those times were before so actually figured out the what the challenge meant. I haven't had any opportunities since then. Realistically though, you also have to be lucky enough to be by a portal and use it within the five seconds or so that it takes the survivor to generate the power up.

Not a great challenge when they're 99 percent luck based.
Even if all conditions are right, there is a good chance you have to bail on an important chase to maybe get to the survivor in time. Also, I don't even know if it would default you to the correct portal.
I guess my best bet would be to equip insidious and sit at a portal and how for the best. But then I'm throwing.
Hopefully you guys just award killers the reward for this one or change the challenge all together.

i can't get it done like normally and it the only quest i have left.
but most survivor wont do it.
