What to do against constant crashes of the game?

Hello, I'm asking this for a friend of mine whose game keeps on crashing for days now. They've tried everything stated here:

Updated drivers, DirectX, GPU, Windows, verified game files, uninstall and reinstalled the game. Everything is up-to-date and no other games but DBD has this issue. Over the course of the last few days, their ban jumped from 1 hour to 6 hours…

For the record they're NOT disconnecting, nor rage-quitting, nor having connection issues. It's DBD that keeps on crashing and even asking to 'send a crash report' At times it completely closes the app either mid-game, at the start of a chase and/or during end-game. Is there anything that can be done?

They have done all of these and additionally lowered their in-game settings. Turned off AI agents for NVIDIA.

    i am having issues with killer matches crashing, specifically with oni and sometimes with trapper. But oni its happing abou 1 in 3 games. survivor games do not crash for me except for a single time.

    Its fun that oni crashes after i paid for his visceral but i dont believe crash reports are ever actually seen so i just cant play the character i paid for consistently.

    Typical BHVR. Maybe they'll fix it in another 10 years.
