New Killer: The Statue

Name: The Statue
Weapon: Chisel and Mallet (In one quick motion, the killer holds the chisel in front of him and uses mallet to drive it into the survivor’s back.)
Special Ability: Animate Statue

Detailed Description:
The match starts with several (4-5) large stone blocks randomly placed about the map. When within range, the killer can teleport to one of the blocks. Upon entering a block, it begins to crumble down into the shape of the killer (about 5 seconds with audible “crumble” noises, adjustable with add-ons). Wherever the killer is standing before teleporting, his body remains as a newly hardened stone statue in his shape.

Any time he teleports to a Statue (rather than a stone block), it animates much more quickly (1-2 seconds). If a Statue goes unused for a certain amount of time (3 minutes perhaps?) then it will revert back to a stone block.

Like The Hag, the killer can choose which block/statue to teleport to by looking directly at it.

Blocks and statues are solid and impassible. Survivors may tip a statue over and shatter it in order to clear a path through the tile it was sitting on. This action takes 10-15 seconds (faster with co-op action) and makes a visual noise notification that looks like a pile of rubble. Shattered statues respawn elsewhere as stone blocks after 30 seconds.

Potential Strategies:
— Place a statue near an exit gate facing the switch for a possible action interrupt.
— Place a statue facing toward a generator for a possible action interrupt.
— Place a statue in narrow passageways or in front of windows to block them.
— Place a statue on the basement staircase to slow down rescue attempts (as well as receive a noise notification when it is destroyed).
— Place a statue directly in front of an occupied locker to trap the survivor inside. (Another survivor will need to shatter it in order to free him).
— Place a statue directly in front of an exit switch to force survivors to topple it and make noise.
— Place a statue on top of the hatch to block it. (Perhaps the hatch tile should be unblockable. In this case place a statue on each of the 4 sides of the hatch.)

Potential add-ons / perks:
— Quicker statue animation
— Silent statue animation
— More stone blocks
— Greater teleport range
— Longer time for statues to revert to stone blocks
— Auras of statues that “see” a survivor glow yellow.
— Perk: Stone Fist - a long-range, heavy-hitting lunge attack. The action takes 5/4/3 seconds to complete. Successful hits put a survivor in the dying state. (Overpowered? Maybe. Long action time should make this very difficult to master. Certainly open to modification ideas.)

Other ideas to consider:
— Whenever a teleport occurs, the new body always drops off stone rubble during the animation process. The rubble remains until that particular statue is animated again elsewhere. This rubble could cause survivors to stumble and slow down for a bit. Good strategy would be to animate statues in narrow doorways or by windows.
— Each statue looks different (Gargoyle, Abe Lincoln, Roman Emperor, Egyptian Pharoah, Armored Knight, etc.) Perhaps each variation will behave somewhat differently (speed, weapon range, etc.). I understand this would require significant programming, so it’s just an idea.

Seeing as how it matters what direction the killer is facing before teleporting, I now think a lock-on mechanism would be useful. Look at a block or statue and lock onto it as the one you want to teleport to. It remains locked on as long as you’re in range, even if you are no longer facing its direction. This gives you the ability to face toward a generator/switch/chest etc. before moving to a new block or statue.

Also, as an edit, I was not clear in my original post that survivors should be able to push over and shatter stone blocks as well as statues.
