Thanks Devs for the DS Buff :)

Their goal was to make it less powerful in 4 man swf, its unuseable in solo play with the change, but...in swf? Huge buff! Can't slug them otherwise they can get up or run unbreakable, and in the end game vs 4 ds and BT...Good luck. I mean I main survivor so Ill take a ds buff anyday :)

Yep just another nerf to solos. SWF will bring their insta heals and gang recover the slugged, or if the killer camps 60 seconds over the slugged, they will move even further away from any hooks during that time, that's even more time to do gens.

    Wow.

Forget about looping this is even an easier way to waste the killer time as it requires no effort from the survivor - run tenacity with maybe unbreakable. You get off the hook and downed again? Just fast crawl away to a strategic spot while recovering. If they follow you, you just bought another minute for three others to do gens, if they don't then a buddy just needs to touch you for a second to get you back up (or get yourself back up at the right time with unbreakable) and you can do it all over again. Otherwise they have to pick you up and eat the DS.

Guess killers can use mori - for how long their supplies last, but we all know the DC rate tends to rise even higher when a killer packs mori.

Tunnelers are getting salty for this post, I agree of ds only should punish campers and tunnelers, why ds punish players who do their job?...

In other words give them free escape and force the kille to play a way he/she may don't want

How is that any different than a killer slugging them and leaving them to bleed out, they then need to start running unbreakable or No Mither and play a way he/she doesn't want.

Ok most of the time when a killer slugging is to won time or because he/she hates one person with the new DS this will be the final scenario all the time

That's not always true, I've seen legacy and P3 nurses with several k hours played slugging at 5 gens and other times they do it to the non obsession just to be dicks about it. Don't go making excuses for slugging just because the new DS changes,

Since slugging existed long before these changes were even announced and ll you're going to end up doing is force more people to group up and run 4 isnta heals/Unbreakable etc.

Oh sure you can dodge but then guess what you get no lobbies while the killers that don't and won't slug and that'll simply adapt get lobbies.

Maybe this nurse want to dirank because slug give nothing to the killers and yes i know but back there slug was a nice counter to DS then changed so you can't do it anymore

There must be something I am missing. I have read over the changes multiple times and I cannot see how the new DS rework is anything but a nerf to the perk. I could be mistaken and if so please explain . .

    Current DS

    • Use DS at any point in the game 1 time (when being carried/not being dribbled) - Can technically be used for the duration of a trial, until used

    New DS

    • Unusable until hooked at least once - This is 100% better than the current DS
    • Only usable after being unhooked or freeing yourself for 60 seconds - You can only be unhooked twice (third hook instant death) meaning you can only use DS for 120 seconds during a trial
    • Cannot dribble to avoid getting DS - Which makes sense if they can only use the perk potentially for 120 seconds

Only being able to use DS after being unhooked for 60 seconds, Only 2 possible chances to use DS per trial (per person). A theoretical trial lasts 10 minutes, current DS you can use for 10 minutes. New DS regardless of how long the trial lasts you can only usable for 120 seconds total

I could be totally wrong about how this works. Though I have read the new DS notes a few times and I cannot see how it is anything but a nerf to the perk. Is it the fact that with the new DS you can't dribble the survivor why killers might not see this as a nerf?

I play Killer and Survivor about 1:2 so I can assume (we haven't been able to play with New DS yet) from both sides.

As Killer while I won't always be able to find the Survivor who saved the hooked survivor. If I make it back in time to see where both of them went I am highly encouraged to go after the saving survivor vs the unhooked survivor. Or if you use enduring take the DS and give them ~1 second to get a head start and get it out of the way.

As Survivor I don't use the current DS and I can't see the new DS being very popular unless survivors want some type of temporary anti-tunnel defense when unhooked.

If I am wrong please let me know and tell me how, specifically. Like many of us I am interested in learning exactly how the New DS change will work.

The only part of the New DS changes I find more confusing and somewhat dislike is how the obsession status will work and affect obsession perks in general will take some getting used too for me.

Though in time this change might not seem that big of a deal as players adapt.

Yeah I'm confused by how this would work with say Dying Light/Rancor/STBFL/Remember Me/PWYF because does that mean only the 1st obsession counts or what.

I mean can you simply run 4 obsession perks and use it on each survivor in turn which would be stupidly broken. But then you've got the problem of you obsession changes but how do you deal with not hitting the correct target then.

Also does the 60 seconds counter start while on the ground or once you've been picked up and if you get rehooked is it still active?

Tunneling harms you in the long run. Killers that tunnel are the ones to harm themselves by doing this, yet complain about genrushing because they have no idea how to pressure survivors off gens.
Adapt. Blood Warden helps against the free escapes. Blood Warden NOED is pretty strong. If you don't like NOED like me, then Rancor can synergize pretty well with it as well, and the new DS may make the perk more worthwhile.

If a lot of people start running it, and killers keep getting punished for mindlessly tunneling, then it'll eventually become the norm to not waste their time doing so and pressuring other survivors.

All we can do is take our best guess with the information provided. Hopefully once the players get to dive into the game with these changes we can gain a good understanding through experience instead of brainstorming based on text.

Hopeful it all turns out well.

We’ll see what happens I guess. They’ve done a lot of stuff to try to prevent people from camping and tunneling but it doesn’t really lessen the amount of killers that do it. They find  ways around it.

Ok, why the killer should play with one or other way why he/she can play as he/she likes. By saying "look we may have DS and those you will get punish because you play to win, no matter if you camp or tunneling" the game began again survivors side and way more than before because kill can't kill survivor fast enough.

If you’re a good enough killer you can get a 4K before a single gen is done. It happens, you just have to learn how survivors think

Because it's the most effective. Bad killers rely on tunneling and whine about being genrushed. That's why this is good. It promotes more efficient and skillful gameplay. Play how you want, probs wont get far if you tunnel XD

Well the new DS destroy any good tactics killer can use and yes you may be good at start when you slug one and hunt other survivor ( if you find one ) but you let 2 other survivors do 2 gens and save the down one and maybe done 1-2 more ( and don't forget most of the time you are done 1 gens before you have one survivor on the hook)

DS sounds better to me as a survvior than a killer. I think I would use it, and I was someone who considered the old DS the most broken thing in the entire game.

I still think this new one will be extremely powerful. Perhaps even more so than before. At least they shortened the stun a little bit, hopefully that sticks.

Dev think to make endurand no work on DS, and maybe remove the timer so yes if they do it willl be more broken

Well, it affects early game mainly, but in end game where killers already have a hard time, it basically seals the deal, e.g BT, unbreakable, and now this ds. If a killer doesnt tunnel all game he basically kind of has to end game if the person unhooking is healthy, and the person with BT will just take a hit and lets say you manage to get them, well, boom ds in the face. Or, you want to slug? Unbreakable, you basically you need to try and eat through these strong perks early game as fast as you can early game. Obviously, there is exceptions to this like nurse or billy but DS really hasnt ever affected them as much, since most billy's have enduring and nurse is nurse.

Hold your horses we need to see it tested first on ptb and besides are your memory spans so short you cant remember the last time they were supposedly change ds. Oh wait they walked back those changes. End games getting adjusted soon anyways so well have to see long term.
