It's truly funny and the camps in survivors are split in half.
One side is acting like their life blood is getting taken away, the others are saying they don't even use DS.

So either DS was so overpower that too many rely on it or it was in an ok state and nobody really uses it.

In both cases a change was necessary.
If it's a core perk in every survivor build it is clearly too strong and needed adjustments.
If it wasn't that strong and barely someone took it, why will it be missed?

Are the survivors really upset or is it just the human mind who entirely dislikes any form of change, be it good or bad.

Well I mean nobody really likes their “side” losing. Aka being nerfed. If they had find another way to nerf NOED killers wouldn’t the very pleased about it either and would say the same thing.

But yeah I know what you mean.

Anything on either side that is considered strong that gets changed suffers from this syndrome.

It's part and parcel to nerfing how they specifically played the game so it effects them the most, it's understandable but they fail to see reason why something needs changed and the reason they used it was because it was so strong.

Its like removing a favourite toy from a baby when you find out it is dangerous.

DS is absolutely fine and killers can just catch up to survivors a few second later anyways.

At least that's what I thought until I started playing killer and realized what a pain in the butt it is to play against. As a survivor main who never ran the perk to begin with and occasionally plays killer for fun, please nerf this freaking perk into the ground.

I realize you're probably only generalizing survivor mains based on those who are a 100% survivor main (or near to that), but I'm happy with the change. The perk feels unfair and can be unfun to go against in its current change and with this coming tweak, at least it'll be reliant on factors beforehand and be (possibly) somewhat of a counter to something unpleasant rather than just a counter to going down. Hidden DS is also atrocious and can be a huge time waster, which time is very important for killer.

Something being OP or broken does not necessarily mean its popular.

For example in CSGO the SG553 was mechanically so beyond any other weapon in the game that it was, before i quit broken.
But nobody used it because of the meta that most who dislike thinking for themselves immediatly jumped upon and the meta was so religiously abided that you got kicked nearly immediatly for buying itevrn thouhh nobody really recognized its potential.

In Killing Floor 2, the Berserker (melee perk) has a weapon called the Eviscerator, it lead to most Berserkers who are basicly melee tanks to play as sharpshooters that would completely ignore the purpose of their class and be useless to the team, IT WAS NOT OP but still had to be nerfed to the ground to stop that meta and those players from basicly being unwitting griefers.
