Sound based Killer

Hello there, how about a killer that is acting completely with audible clues?
It would be a natural counter to voice, becaus you need your ears to detect the killer.
Not only would this make a strong killer concept but it also would bring horror back into the game.
Maybe the killer has little bells and if you are listening closely you can hear where he/she is coming.
With audible theme you could go further into sensory deprivation mode. Play with the view of the survivors, maybe the colouring of the map, just a greyfilter so it is not too expensive too make and you got yourself a psychodelic monster!

Outlast is a horror game. I only mentioned it because there is an enemy that has chains around his ankles so that you can hear when he is coming. I like your idea of implementing this, but how would it affect the terror radius? Would there be no music?

Instead of the heartbeat, there could be the thin bells or a small terrorradius. Myers in stage 1 combined with M&A has a 0 terrorradius or spirit with prayer needs. So the concept wouldn't be that new and with the bells you get an audible indicator.
The whole spiel of this killer would be, using your ears. It would indirectly also buff some unusual perks like Spine Chill ect. So if you have trouble with hearing there are existing ingame assistance.

The appeal to me is the tense moment, even in with groups with voice. (In the pregame chat all can be invited to some sorts of voice if they like. Not only SWFs. I understand that's the main reason why the devs are okay with voice and it is not a SWF only issue)
Just imagine to have to tell your friends to be quiet. I think I heard something, only to be nothing or jumpscared/surprised!

During chases there can be the normal music, a unique killer music or simply silence, only the bells chasing you, the breath and grunts of your survivor and the scenery of the beautiful map.

Yeah. His mori would have to be tearing the head off of a survivor. Or is that too graphic?

Ive been playing Mortal Kombat since the first arcade cabinet was released. This game is not even close to gory.

I'd be kinda down for Nemesis from RE3 but that's me. :chuffed:

    "Staarrrsss.."

Dbd definitely needs more gore. I think Legion's mori was a nice start in terms of truly brutal kills. I'd also like survivors to actually have visual changes when moried i.e. getting cut in half by the chainsaw instead of just seeing blood

Maybe I don't have to wait too long for my type of killer.

Demise of the faithful is announced and the killer is holding a censor.

Maybe I get a burned, chain swinging priest that distorts the senses of the survivors and use the swinging noise of his censor to make himself known. A crawling mist opponent the survivors.

Engulfing in smog and disorient them until the killer shackles them, hang them up on the hook and burn them like a witch! Strangle them with it's chains and suffocating them with the smoke as Mori.

If they introduced actual gore, i'd start buying copies to give away on Steamgifts again. Legion was their first step in the right direction with brutality, as the only other 2 mori's that are even close is Bubba and Billy.
