Why I used to play all the time, but barely touch the game now.

Outside of the known hitbox issues and p2p relying on good host connection this is why I barely ever play dead by daylight anymore.

Disclaimer: this involves matchmaking, but it's not specifically regarding the current matchmaking updates being tested, but more specifically the size of the groups ques and times to get a match.

So here's the problem I have. If I want to play dead by daylight as a killer i have no trouble quickly finding a match. But playing alone gets boring so I don't do that often.

When I que alone as a solo survivor I also find a match very quickly.

When I que in swf with only one other friend we only have to wait a minute or two before we have a lobby. Again, not bad at all.

That is where the short ques stop.

As soon as I ad a third to my party the que times become a ten minute minimum 90% of the time.

Once we stack a 4 person group together the que time is a minimum of 20-30 minutes, then 80% of the time the first killer we are paired with Dodges us, then we wait another 20-30 minutes for the next one and finally playing a single match.

This is all from my host search with friends joining me. I know it isn't a killer to survivor ratio when I can swap to solo que and get a match almost instantly. It is something to do with larger groups being intentionally slowed in some way to have a match.

Games often encourage friends to play together and group up because it brings in a higher player base. But something about dead by daylight does the opposite. If I can only play 3 matches in 3 hours time (which is my best case scenario) when I've got 3 friends with me then why even bother playing at all?

We all know the Matchmaker has its issues, but I honestly feel that the game as a whole needs to be balanced and structured in a way that it encourages players to play swf and be more difficult to survive playing solo.. that includes making it faster for full groups to find matches than solo ques because part of the match making is already done for you.

Just my experience and reasons I thought I'd share if anyone was interested to know. Hopefully dedicated servers will fix all this.

Of course solo queue is faster than SWF, if everybody plays SWF, guess who is needed to fill the last slot in the lobby......

Btw, crossplay could reduce queue times by a lot, think about that
