What do you guys think of the upcoming killer and perks?
I'm curious on how the infection will work, but the Plague seems cool to me. Her design is really cool.
Corrupt Intervention may help so that you aren't being gen rushed on the opposite side of the map, though (from the sounds of it) it will only be active at the start and the usefulness of a perk that's only active at start is somewhat dubious. We'll have to see, though. Infectious Fright may help from people being nearby the pallet since they would scream and would give more use to Calm Spirit (since it silences screams). Dark Devotion sounds interesting, too.
Solidarity sounds like it'll help save on time, but that may mean someone's not getting BP if you're healing together. Poised seems like a gimmick perk, though I'm not sure. It allows you to dart off for a short amount of time without scratch marks, so I suppose that would be useful. I'll have to see how it plays out in a game. Head On (apply directly to the forehead) sounds... interesting. It seems like it'd be a gimmick perk, too, though I'll have to see how well it works for non-trolly purposes. Like if you're in a chase or hiding in an area. I know some people will jump into lockers to avoid hits and so on and the perk may give more purpose to randomly jumping into lockers and may give more usefulness out of Iron Maiden if it's used.

Honestly, I am really hyped for the corrupt intervention. All I need as a killer is early game pressure, survivors will not be able to gen rush me at the other end of the map and I will know exactly which 4 generators I will have to look at after my first chase. I hope its numbers don't suck man, something like 60-90 seconds would be cool as fck.

I love the killer. I’m a huge plague mechanic fan. MTG? I played black. 40k? Grandfather Nurgle!
This killer’s ability hits all the items on my checklist and I’m looking forward to her becoming my new main. I’m already trying to think up new perk combinations for her.
I’m wondering if survivors at her healing fountains will trigger A Nurse’s Calling. Deerstalker might be a solid choice for her since survivors can be put into the dying state if they were injured when their plague timer runs out.
Plague up a generator then hit it with a surveillance and you’ll know where the survivors ran to after touching the gen you just kicked.
So many possibilities....
1 -
That survivors will find corrupt intervention A.K.A Genrush begone op and it will get nerfed
I AM A SURVIVOR MAIN AND I LIKE IT
1 -
I'm hoping Corrupt Intervention is like Deja Vu and activates after every Gen, this is the only way that perk can be useful.
Head On will definitely give Iron Maiden more use and I'm so happy for it but it still needs more than that 15 seconds. I know I'm running both of these perks.
Solidarity sounds interesting, I wonder if Autodidact works with it, I love using weird perks that are beneficial but complicated so I'll run it.
Besides the first perk mentioned i'm worried about Dark Devotion, if the timer for the TR is too small it will be useless. It needs like 30 seconds to get any real momentum from it.
1 -
Overall I'm SUPER excited, I love plague/disease characters so I'll be puking over everyone with a sick smile :)
1 -
I'm just not too keen on one-time uses, though if the amount of time is nice, it'll be useful at the start. I was thinking it could be especially useful for slower killers, though I could see it being useful for everyone. That way if they want to gen rush (bring in expensive add-ons and so on), they'll have to do it closer to you.

I doesn't sound OP to me and I would consider myself a survivor main (I'm better at survivor and play it more). It sounds fair to me.
0 -
We'll have to see when the PTB comes out to how well it works. I'll be honest I have two perks that are filler right now on both survivor and killer, so more fun perks to play with would be wonderful. ^^
Yeah, it needs to be longer. I saw how short it was. Like even 30 seconds would be an improvement, I think.
0 -
If nothing else, puking all over the survivors should be a lot of fun.
Perks seem ok. Not amazing but not overpowered either.
Killer looks interesting. Definitely excited to try it out. I just hope they don't feel like a pain to go against.

No idea as far as killer is concerned, I haven't even really understood how her abilities work..
As for perks:
Killer
Dark Devotion - potentially interesting perk, depending on how much time does the TR switch last. Useless on Legion though. I can imagine it being useful with quick traveling killers like Hillbilly or Nurse. Still, won't ever become meta :P
Infectious Fright - could maybe be somehow useful against swf, to avoid flashlight saves, but I would have liked much more a perk that does the exact opposite: let survivors OUTSIDE my terror radius scream. That would have been VERY useful. Another possible change: let every INJURED survivor scream (wherever they are) - this would have given an interesting spin on the current no-heal meta.
Corrupt Intervention - the Deja-Vù perk killers never asked for (really guys, this is pretty useless, I don't know how you may like it).
SURVIVOR
Solidarity - situational, but I like it. Solidarity + Autodidact could be very interesting (but still situational)
Poised - meh. Again, really situational, seems like a waste of a perk to be honest.
Head on - now this is good! Imagine this combo: quick and quiet + dance with me + poised: you jump from a window without making any noise, gain distance without leaving scratch marks and then hide in a locker. If the killer is smart enough to find you: head on!

I think the gens should be locked till at least 1 or 2 gens have been completed
Or
Make it a 3 token based perk that whenever a generator is at 85%, the entity blocks it from being worked on any further for 60sec and highligh that the generator and removes a token. With this, it would synergize well with Tinkerer and other perks.

I'm looking forward to the opportunity of puking all over people. xD

I hate that they're using a bandaid to fix genrushing. I want it fixed but not with a bandaid. @not_Queen or @Patricia can you tell me if the devs will focus on genrushing itself or use perks? Not trying to be hostile but genuinely curious.

The new killer:
1) Design: I really like it! Her face is the perfect combination of scary and beautiful and the weapon is finally something all new.
2) Her power: Well... Vomiting isn't exactly what I expected but it's still interesting. I wonder what happens if you let the timer run out.
3) Her perks: The most interesting one for me is the perk causing the entity to protect 3 gens at the start of the trial. Did they specify for how long the perk lasts?
3 -
I like seeing The Entity becoming more involved in The Trial, she seems to love to take part in helping her servants get what they need so that they can feed her, it is an interesting perk that i might run on high map pressure killers like Billy.

I buy this almost i think on premiere like spirit.Realy like this boomer i mean plague but we see how this going on in game.

Again for Corrupt Intervention's fans:
- if you find a generator that is "corrupted": congratulations, you know you spawned far away from the killer!
- the perk incentivizes survivors to do the "correct" generators, that is the ones in the middle of the map. This is a huge advantage late game!
- one time use - at the worst possible time as well (that is: at the very beginning of the match)
- I can't do generators? Well, let's search for the hex ruin instead!
However you look at it, there are no "pros". If one is really afraid of gen rushing, no matter where the generator is, one should use Discordance.

Killer
Dark Devotion - I hope it lasts for a while.
Infection Fright - I don't know how useful it would be to hear someone outside your terror radius screaming unless you're slugging. Otherwise it may give a general idea of where someone is, but they're likely to have moved by the time you've picked up and hooked the downed person.
Corrupt Intervention - Some people seem to like it. I think its usefulness would be dependent on how much time it lasts, though.
SURVIVOR
Solidarity - I could see it being very helpful, especially with a healing build. It'll be good on time wasting, though. Instead of healing 2 people, you're healing 1.
Poised - Seems like a gimmick build sort of perk to me, but we'll see what use people can find from it.
Head On - Yeah, I thought the perk would be decent at the very least and give people more reason to randomly jump into lockers during a chase, which some already do. I think its usefulness may be dependent on how much of a stun it gives, though, and how long you need to be sitting in a locker for it to activate.
0 -
Why? Genrushing is more effective if everyone is on their own gen. If discordance counters genrushing, they're genrushing wrong imo.
2 -
Personally I think by the sound of it head on will be underpowered for an exhaustion perk. If the killer is chasing you the only exhaustion you have is head on three seconds give the killer more than enough time to grab you out of the locker if that's your intent to make the change last longer. Personally I would say make it work instantly with exhaustion or keep the three seconds and make it timed like dance with me but make the stun like 2 seconds long instead. I see head on only working when the killer is tunneling and you go for a save in the basement giving you more then three seconds to get into a locker and wait but if it was instantly I could see it not being so situational and a useful tool to either prolong the chase a way to loose the killer.

because you shouldn't be static on the map, you go look somewhere and search for survivors. If 3-4 people are on 3-4 different generators you would find at least 1 100% before anything is getting done, then you play from that. And remember my second point: "the perk incentivizes survivors to do the "correct" generators, that is the ones in the middle of the map."
The real "rush" happens when you can't stop a generator from being done before reaching it, and that requires multiple survivors on the same generator.
0 -
I don't mind corrupt intervention because its only for a limited time. Just wait for it to wear off and then start a gen. A lot of players wait for the killer to patrol past a gen before they hop on it anyway.

(@not_Queen pls give us back quotes... I want to quote a specific part of this post but I can't :( )

Yeah I just want a "general location". Slugging is incentivized with this current implementation, exactly because you may have the time to reach a close survivor screaming, not with my proposal. You have to imagine a BBQ & Chili that is not precise and "delayed" (actually... pre...layed :P?). If they move from their position after the scream that's fine by me, I slow down their gen repairs.

All of the perks look really solid and I feel as though it's good killers are getting more strong perks to add more variety to the game that don't involve Exposed.
Although the Obsession perk that transfers heartbeat may vary in mileage until I know the stats on it. Reminds me of the Red Herring perk concept for the Scream chapter someone did.
Edit - Corrected perk name and providing source
As for the killer itself I like the pattern of adding more objectives in the game based on the killer. In my opinion I'd like to see all killers have the same treatment where they're either given passives or map oriented abilities.
2 -
@Poweas I'm not sure if any of the perks are meant to be a band-aid fix. They're all a bit too weak to be such. I would think adjusting gen rushing would be a process. Seems like to me they're going one step at a time with what they're addressing.
@Yamaoka They haven't yet. That'll probably come out with the PTB. I'm excited for the new killer too! The design is beautiful and her power is intriguing.
@Detective_Jonathan I think the perk would be more helpful on slower killers. It's just making it so they can't gen rush from far away at the start of the match I believe.
@Larcz She's like a pretty boomer lmao.

People haven't picked up on this yet, free legacy skins! 😄

I thought it was a vapelord killer not a puke queen

I don't know if it'll be used for slugging (once again, we'll have to see in the PTB). I think it's more useful for if someone's under the pallet, for instance, or if you see multiple people with flashlights spawn into the lobby. If they scream while outside you're terror radius, they may not be on a gen. They could be looking for something. It may be good for indicating where to pressure next, but I think the perk is intended to save killers the time while picking up someone with a flashlight in lobby or with a pallet. If there's a scream, there's someone nearby. If not, it's probably safe (unless they have calm spirit, which isn't often used as is).

I'm very interested in that perk. That way when the obsession approaches, you may hear a heart beat. I hope it lasts for a good amount of time, though.
0 -
Those perks really sound weak.
"For a few seconds…" *rolleyes*

(tnx for the quote tip)
yes, I agree with you, but what I'm saying is that I don't really like this implementation, I don't find it useful.
0 -
What are you quoting?

McLean constantly said that "for a few seconds…"
So it sounds like it is very short and... pretty much useless.
2 -
I think the devs mentioned on stream that it is a short duration so I imagine it's going to be 5-10 seconds maxed out. I'm assuming the general idea of the perk is hitting them and the speed boost they get to run away will be good for you cutting off chase and deceiving survivors. Although I don't know what to do past that if you can't manage to find someone in the duration that the perk is active.
0 -
I'm not sure who McLean is, sorry.
0 -
Mclean is the one that looks like Dwight. :P
2 -
No problem. c: I think we'll have to see how it works out when the PTB comes around. A lot of what's described is very vague and it's easier to see how things are when put into a game rather than a discussion.
0 -
Oh, I didn't watch the stream. He could have been exaggerating when he said a few seconds. Some people will say "Be back in a few seconds" and then like take a minute.
0 -
Yeah this is pretty much going to be what makes the perk for me is how long it last and if there is a delay of some sort. I like the idea of it but I'm struggling to think of a use for it.
If you hit them with the intent on breaking chase the ideal scenario is you run into a solo survivor and the obsession runs into a solo survivor so the one the obsession finds quits doing objectives because they believe killer is nearby. Meanwhile the one you find is caught off guard due to your 0 terror radius.
Otherwise I just imagine you hit the survivor and the obsession runs to the other survivors who are grouped and the perk does nothing.
Again just speculation but I'm unsure what to make of this perk. Other two killer perks I can already see plenty of uses for.
I'd assume this perk is meant to be paired with Infectious Fright and anything that can cause the survivor to go down after a set amount of time like bleedout or plague so they're essentially a ticking time bomb that calls out other survivors.
0 -
If the Devs mentions something like "a few seconds" , from my experience, it is max 5 seconds, so I expect those perks to be trash.
2 -
A lot of what's described is very vague and it's easier to see how things are when put into a game rather than a discussion.
yeah ok but this topic is called "what do you guys think of upcoming killer and perks?" and the thread starter is.. you :D. I was just answering.
0 -
Not sure why you're getting weird. I never said you can't share what you think or how you feel about the chapter. I'm just pointing out the obvious and sharing my perspective.
0 -
I was under the impression that the perk would make two terror radiuses running around.
0 -
Maybe I misunderstood stream I'll take another look. I had the impression the Obsession takes over your terror radius and yours then becomes 0. Which is why I imagined it being a perk meant for breaking chase. If that's the case and both the killer and obsession have a terror radius I can't possibly think of a use for it.
edit - Timestamped at 30:00
Yeah in the video it's stated that your terror radius becomes 0 as killer.
0 -
Survivors perks are ######### like usual. Killers perks are aight.
2 -
I'm really bad at keeping up with streams tbh. Thank you for sharing! It'd have to be longer than a few seconds for it to be useful.
0 -
Survivor's seem to be gimmick build stuff, I think.
0 -
"Survivors perks are ######### like usual. Killers perks are aight."
#########? The opposite way around, dude.
All 3 killer perks look like trash to me.

@Wolf74 You need to @ them if you want them to see your replies.

@fluffybunny My guess is that, for lack of better wording, the Plague will be the Splatoon killer. Since she can infect survivors through objects I can just imagine Plague players puking EVERYWHERE just to maximize the chances of infection.
