Countering the New Killer's Perks, Discussion

She seems to be able to have a normal power to help counter Decisive, Gen Rushing, Looping (Thinking of the ways I'd play her already has me scared to be a survivor at the killer shack even with a god palette), Altruism in the killer's presence.

Personally, I've ran DejaVu for so long that I don't even need it for most maps anymore, I know where gens would be off the bat. So that new gen Blocking Perk is whatever for me. Let a killer run whispers with this perk for all I care, just be one of those quick n quiet or calm spirit people if you're worried about it imo

*Cough, object of obsession is one of my favorite perks, Detective's Hunch may be handy, StakeOut, Calm Spirit, Ace In The Hole*

Screaming in the killer's terror radius if someone's down, is that going to really stop flashlight saves? This game is full of goofballs at high ranks who take fun in coming near the killer and doing risky stuff on purpose. There are players who played this game for hundreds or thousands of hours, nothing is going to stop them from saving. Also...

*Cough, Unbreakable, Sole Survivor, Distortion, AfterCare/Bond/Empathy, Tenacity*

Projectile Vomit/Infection? I assume The Plague can spread her vomit any direction she looks and it may be able to go over or splash bits over obstacles (idk yet), but I think I'd take her infection over pig's and trappers traps any day so far.

*Cough, Object of Obsession again; Spine Chill; Keys; Leader*

My first build will be:

Ace In The Hole, Object of Obsession, Exhaustion, Leader + Item + Luck Offering in hopes of pulling out keys for people and because 8/10 times when I use an offering its for All Survivors to get high luck

I always have 1 exhaustion and leader or prove thyself or bond and switch around my last 2 depending on what I feel like doing. Since I have to switch around my loadout thank to the recent change to leader, and technician this killer's perks has me thinking of stuff.

Edit: Heeyyyy, come to think of it, I may still be able to keep Technician on my main loadout for the terror radius swapping perk. Mmmyes. But Probably without Object on my belt.

You guys got any cool ideas?

Okay so dark devotion is swf chat, ######### your pants is urban evasion, and genrush begone has no counter atm

Haha, yeah for genrush begone I'd say Dejavu tracking or move around with Calm Spirit because a attentive killer will be on high alert also object/spine. I won't be surprised if the new map has a lot of crows too iirc when they fixed Spies From The Shadows they added some more crows to some maps.

I think it also helps to have spine/object against the Plague herself because the killer can infect loops before you even get to it so you want to see where she's clowning around spreading her disease and time how long that will last.

Tbh I'm worried about the reach of her puke, she can't be looped like regular killers the way I'm thinking about it but, like Nurse and Legion who isn't built to the impossible, there should be a special way.

The thing about the "Gen lock down perk" is that it still leaves 5 gens untouched meaning you can still have 4 gens being done and once the other gens pop up then the killer has lost a perk.

I think we are going to see some more troll Doctor players using the "gen lock down perk" to set up a perfect 3 gen strat right off the bat.

There's still RNG to stage that automatically, and if it gets abused by Doctor, hopefully they'll end up reworking him (finally).

The main boon to Corrupt Intervention for a killer is that it forces survivors closer, and makes finding people faster/easier. Further locking people out of the furthest generators enables more useful early pressure with Distressing/Unnerving/Overcharge, etc. Having everyone forced closer to you helps your momentum get started through earlier hits and hooks.

It won't stop gen rushing in a traditional sense, but it'll enable a killer to keep up better, and potentially pressure generators longer. For people that like to directly slow generators down, this is a fantastic perk for getting yourself started. It's not a game changer, but it's interesting to see how players will attempt to deal with it.

Agreed. Doctors are going to have a field day but it will also be strong for mobile killers like Billy, Nurse, and Spirit. None of them need to set-up and prep like Trapper and Hag. They can whip around the only four gens available and have 2-3 or more hooks in before the two minute mark. Only thing that is going to make this perk manageable is time and experience. Playstyles will change, for sure. Also, there are only 7 gens total. CI take up 3 so there is only 4 left.

@MegaWaffle Why do people think that there are 8 generators?

It is just not you, I have seen the same mistake many times after this perk got announced. There are only 7 generators, you complete 4 and to power exit gates, you need to complete 1 of the 3 generators.

Yes the perk would be terrible if there were 8 generators since it is difficult to deal with 5 gens but closest 4 generators are not difficult to deal with. I think if the killers can use this perk strategically, it is going to be one of the best killer perks in the game.

Even if all of the killers can not benefit this perk, I am pretty sure hag will have a great time with it.

@MegaWaffle ya know I thought the exact same thing, welcome to 3 gen strat endings when this perk is in play. Or maybe I’ll just do totems with the new down time who knows. Killers keep telling me to touch them anyways I’ll wait it out to ensure I don’t get 3 gen’d 👉👉

Dark Devotion: Premonition or Spine Chill so you know if she is really around or not (obsession or normie).

Infectious Fright: You need both Distortion and Calm Spirit to counter this. Also just stay out the the killer's TR if they are chasing. Or hide in a locker.

Corrupt Intervention: Just go do different gens. Deja Vu might help if you don't know how objects spawn on tiles. I kinda see this one as a blessing and a curse for killers. Run it and now you have fewer gens to protect at the start, but since they are the farthest gens from you then it is more likely survivors will first do gens nearer the center of the map, and thus avoid a 3 gen late game.

The only thing I don't like about that new generator perk is its going to stall the game. Survivors are going to camp near the gens with the entity and wait until the entity goes away, wait till the killer checks the gen, then do gens.

Alot of survivors arent going to attempt to do gens they're going to hide in bushes until all the gens are available. Otherwise the killer is going to patrol the gens really hard. When there's that many less gens to check, patroling is going to be way stronger. Survivors know this and are just going to hide lol.
