survivors waiving arms meaning

Hooked survivors waiving their arms used to mean that the killer was camping, but now I see them do it when the killer is across the ######### map. Did the meaning change?

Some newer survivors don't know what it means or just don't care and so they do it, just as something to do while on hook. I consider myself newer because I haven't played from the beginning of the game but I still only wave when the killer is near. They do themselves a disservice. Then wonder why no one comes for them.

It means the killer is camping. The problem is that the intended message seems to be the opposite, so new players get confused.

    It means killer is camping.

Don’t wave your arms if a killer isn’t near you. You can stop waiving if the go off on their killer adventures elsewhere.

"If you're getting camped, wave your hands!"

If I recall correctly, waving them very rapidly means that killer is camping. And waving them occassionally, like once every second or 2, means "Its safe, get me now!".

Atleast thats what I do, and its well understood in red ranks.

I typically understand waving or twitching a lot as "they're camping" and pulling at the hook as "no one's coming" or "come," but it can be hard to tell since everyone seems to use it for alternate reasons. I have found that people tend to start running at you when you start pulling at the hook, though.

Thank you for checking on this. One less survivor that yolos a save while I try to warn you of a camping pig.

Waving arms = save is unsafe/ don't save me. No waving = ok to save.
