Make Generators require parts
I've been advocating this for a long time now. And the longer I think on it, and the longer I stay rank 1 killer and single digits on survivor (i only play it with friends, i prefer killer) the more I like it, and think it's the right answer.
What I suggest is you keep the same amount of generator repair time, but you split it up into 2 parts. (originally i wanted three, but after doing some light play tests in KWF, where my friends would have to find and loot a chest before doing a gen, we figured 3 might be to much. )
This gives survivors a reason to run around the map. Which lets the killer catch them between loops. Which is very nice. It produces more chases, which is more fun for the survivors and killers, and slows the game down, but not to a crawl. As opposed to 5-10 minutes our games were more 10-15 minutes.
Anyways, that's my idea. It's had some light play testing, so what do you think?
Why not try it out with your friends and see?
edit: All playtests were done by a rank 1 killer, and red rank survivors.

Make it so that you can repair generators as normally but with increased repair time (160 seconds instead of 80, for example) but let survivors find and install parts that'll speed up repair speed a lot. A generator without parts would also lose progress faster from damage than a generator with parts installed.
It'd mean you can push through an entire generator yourself if you feel like it but it'd probably be worth spending some time looking for parts that'd speed up the process.

Be nice if we could try it as a different game mode rather than just a permanent change though.

They already have this. It's a bit meh if you ask me for what it is.
Pretty sure it's the bottom one, haven't had one of these in a while.

Yeah I know they have the concept in the game, for speeding up the gens. This add-on would still be useful for what i propose. allowing you to take in your own part, and not hunt for one.
In the future, maybe read a whole post.
