Is DS actually helpful to counter tunneling?
Does it help anyone? I was watching HybridPanda and he basically goes right back down after using it 'cause the killer had Enduring. I was just wondering how helpful it was for countering tunneling or has it become like Boil Over?

No. Enduring makes it useless.

@Poweas Why didn't they keep the old times and just make it so that it only was active for 60 seconds after the unhook?

I haven’t used it against enduring yet, but it has really saved my life several times!

Yea I just saw that video.
I had been thinking they need to increase the stun time, but now I think they need to make Enduring only apply to pallet stuns. Making it apply to stuns universally makes it stupidly powerful.

@thesuicidefox I'd be okay with it if it the stun time was as long as it was before. DS was so strong because it could be used without any conditions and there was wiggle DS, which wasted way too much time.
Also I'm not getting notified when people post on my threads. -w- How did they break it even more?

Whether there is enduring or not it doesnt counter tunneling. You use it after your first u hook and get tunneled again afterwards, so nothing to Do against it.

How many killers you see running enduring after the latest update? almost nobody uses it unless they wanna try an anti-loop build

@Theluckyboi I've seen people who make a hobby of tunneling say they put it on since it completely counters it and they like ruining survivors' days or something like that.

I don't know why killer mains insist Enduring is needed to counter DS. The counter is not tunneling, or leaving them slugged.
It's like saying "don't unhook" to counter MYC. No the counter is stealth.
Enduring makes what is a good healthy perk for the game useless.

IF the killer has enduring... no. It's legit waste of a perk slot (same for Head On if killer has enduring)
Other than that it does it job.

Yes Enduring makes it virtually pointless, but in turn, you actually need to have a killer RUNNING Enduring for that to be that case. By that standard, because I run Stake Out, Ruin is useless as all of my Tokens make my skill checks successful Hex Skill Checks.
I actually made good use of the new D-Strike yesterday, running into the basement to rescue a survivor from a camping killer whilst d-strike was active. The one I rescued had Borrowed Time on them so the killer went to pick me up, and I stunned them for the escape.
The main difference from before is that it's not as braindead as it once was. You actually need to think about what you're doing before you use it.

Point , game, set, match.

Though for stake out, you need to get tokens for it to work. It isn't really an apples to apples comparison. @Khroalthemadbomber I think the issue would be if Enduring is still considered a meta perk to killers like how DH, SC, Adrenaline are for Survivors, for instance. I was thinking that Calm Spirit counters Spies, but neither are meta or often used (calm spirit, at least). So I'm not sure if that's a fair comparison, either.

I started using it when I read that it countered the new DS. It was an Entitys sent!
No need to waste survivors tears though. Just don't equip DS, that way I would have wasted a perk slot.

It isn't a wasted slot, though. It's useful with pallets, too, that way you can eat the stuns and not worry.

I've used it a few times to try it out now when it has been reworked and I must confess that those games I've gotten to use it, I've survived. It does help a lot.

@se05239 I haven't been able to use it yet. I didn't get the DLC before because it was before the change and I felt the perk was mean to killers. I've noticed a slight increase in tunneling (not sure why), so I could imagine it being helpful in scenarios where you're being tunneled. I like that they changed it into something more like Unbreakable. Slugging and tunneling are both tactics a killer can use.

If it buys extra time for the other survivors to fix generators, it's more than worth it. Glad it's not an exact free escape card anymore.

I run enduring on my killer and the DS stun feels like almost nothing. Still wastes time, so it does its job but its more of a wasted perk slot than it was before.
Bad perk nerfed worse.

It has a hard counter now. So unless you're playing a killer with enduring i'd say yes.
