A radical idea

Consider this as purely skeptical idea for discussion.

What if each round of dbd could have a time limit and survivors respawning after deaths?

Why this idea? Better question: how would this impact dcs?

People dc when they feel a round is imbalanced, know they are going to lose anyway, or feel a round is unfun. Reworking the core mechanics to the game to allow respawns and timers could alleviate some of these issues. It could also be possible to remove the entire mechanic of hook saving which eliminates camping and hampers tunneling. Moris are less imposing and no longer need a hook requirement.

Survivors have a time limit to power gens amd escape. Dont leave by timers end, alm survivors die/lose. Killer gets a lot of kills which feeds their narcissitic thirst for dominance. Could even give survivors 3 or 4 lives per round so they could still lose before the timer.

Are you a lore nut and wonder how this fits? Easy. The entity loves entertainment. Why watch a survivor die once when they can die many times? Maybe to make it interesting the entity drops in random buffs, debuffs, blocks off certain obstacles, etc on both survivors and killers at random intervals just to spice up the show?

Just spitballing ideas, but it has potential. Right now I dont care if it can happen, but what if it did? Thoughts? Ideas?

    That's a nice idea!

I've always felt that the game should be based on how well you can escape a chase and how much of the objective do you actually do. Like, you never "die" but you getting hooked counts against you in terms of points.

Killers goal is to get as many hooks as he can. Survivors goal is to evade the killer and complete the objective.
