I wish I could do this, but I'm a terrible writer. It's very exciting though but if I did this, it would be cringey, and the environment wouldnt be detailed enough to make sense because I dunno how to envision an environment for the story I do have in mind. Hope to see some serious responses to this though.

You open the door, dropping your bag on the floor after returning home from your college classes. Without even looking you walk into the living room of your apartment, living this ritual a hundred times as you collapse on your broken down couch, trying to put away the troubles and frustrations of the day.
As you rest there, rubbing your temples, something feels, off. Something is wrong. Your eyes snap open, blinded for a moment by the brightness of the sun pouring in through a window into the livingroom. It was night when you entered your apartment.
As your eyes attempt to adjust to the jarring shift in lighting, you hear people around you. A lot of people. Your blood runs cold as your adrenaline spikes, jumping into the center of the room and then dashing into a corner between a small potted tree and the TV, a large box unit, nothing like the high definition HD flat screen you poured half a year of your sweat and blood into as your eyes draw in the first thing they've been able to see clearly since you entered your apartment.
"John! What's gotten into you, boy?!" You hear a gruff older man shout from the couch. John? Your heart is pounding as you look out into the room, dated furnishings adorn a bright interior, the large man gesturing at you from the couch as you try to shrink further into the corner you're taking refuge in.
"W-who, w-wha-" You stammer as you point at the man, your arm trembling. "Jesus, boy, what the hell happened to you? Are you on something?!" the man booms, his posturing becoming more aggressive as he leans forward towards you on the couch, your arm dropping down as you flinch away.
"Honey, what's wrong?" A woman enters from an adjacent room, what should be your kitchen, but looking past her it appears to be a kind of washroom. "I don't know, I was sitting here watching the game with our son and he just bolted against the wall like he'd seen a ghost!" The man looked bewildered, the woman casting her gaze on you, easing your nerves as she moves towards you slowly. You go over his words in your mind over and over "Our son?"
Your head starts to pound, none of this makes sense. This can't be real. You can see the woman speaking but she seems so distant as everything seems to pull away, like you're watching the world though stained glass as her words are muffled and her motions blurry. The man's words ring louder and louder in your ears "Our son."
You're brought back to your senses by a hand grabbing your shoulder, shaking you. A small hand, a child. Your eyes focus on the face of a kid, a little girl. "What's wrong big bro? I've never seen you scared." Your thoughts catch again for a moment "Brother? I'm not..." you barely manage to whisper under your breath, your throat feeling tight as you're interrupted, the little girl's concern turning into mocking sass on a dime as she releases you. "Scardy cat! Scardy cat! John's a big scardy cat!" She runs off, chanting those words through the house as you realize a lot more people than just her had joined you in the room.
A family. A dad, a mom, the little kid, and two other siblings. No, one more sibling and a friend, it looks like. A gruff man, still in uniform, you realize. An off duty cop. Mother, looking tired, like she'd been handling a handful all day, everyday. A boy, older than the girl, looking sixteen you would think, and another, a friend. No family resemblance to him, just thick nerdy glasses and awkward rainbow suspenders. And the girl, of course. The youngest, the little bratty sister. And then... you. "John."
"I... I'm ok, guys." You try to steady your breathing, "Just, i-it was just a spider. Felt one on the back of my neck and jumped away and I guess I hit my head on the wall. Really dazed me for a minute. Hah." Your laugh is uneasy, forced, but no one seems to pick up on it.
"You had us scared for a second there, son. We were about to call an ambulance. We thought something happened!" The father looks genuinely concerned, does he really think you're his son? Where even are you?
Your thoughts are interrupted by the nerdy one. The friend. "Gee John, I hope the spider I've been experimenting on didn't get out. If it bit you you coulda been the next Spiderman!" He laughs uproariously at his own joke, breaking down into snorting as everyone else in the room rolls their eyes. His joke still appealing to some yet unseen company as you hear a slight bit of laughter from outside the living room. You wonder just how many people are in this house.
"Yeah, that woulda been something." You joke back, trying to force an easy smile and only succeeding in looking pained, though still unnoticed by your "family." "You keep it in its cage, right, uhh..." You trail off, realizing you don't know his name. You can't just call him "dad" or "sis" like the others.
"Geromy." He interjects. "Man, you forgot my name? You must have hit your head pretty hard. Good thing you're not using it for anything!" He delivers the line with a ######### eating grin as your eyes meet his through his thick rimmed glasses, more of that laughter coming from the other rooms as he snorts to himself again before tugging his suspenders, his eyes never breaking contact until you look away.
You stand from your previously huddled position, dusting yourself off. You need to think. You don't know where you are, you don't know who these people are, you may not even know who you are. You take stock of the situation, drawing in more details about the house and the members in it as you chat with them, settling back on the couch with "dad" to finish watching the game as the others return to doing whatever they were before you made a scene.
There is so much you don't know here that you need to find answers for. The place, the people, it's overwhelming. The only thing you know for certain, you feel.
Is that you don't like Geromy.
