The current form of the game. Ranking is TOXIC
I think this game is officially on the downward spiral. So many of my friends are dropping this game because of match making and how hard it is to pip. I don't very much enjoy being at rank one ever since the big D Ranking drama, so I thought this would be a breath of fresh air with the new system but it isn't.
My current experience is that now that there is a limited amount of points in a game survivors and killers are trying really hard to pip are doing even more of the toxic tactics to pip. I'm not here to flame camping or anything so don't bring that ######### to the comments.
Survivors lately are more aggressive. They are competing for unhooks even doing them in front of the killer because the need those points. As of late DC's are high which has negative effects to killer and survivor being able to get enough points to pip. I have never seen so many killers sweat so hard vs a 2 man team because of 2 DC's and this is fair because if they want to pip Killers need to do that.
The issue here with me is the game was fun when I could run in and play however and get rewarded; as of late I got 25K bp and no PIP because I couldn't unhook anyone. Other games you would see the killer let the last person have hatch if the game was bad, if they felt nice or whatever reason but that doesn't happen now. It was nice to watch games till the end and see the killer just being nice to the player who was obviously new or give the hatch to someone who got downed due to a bullshit hit box.
My point to this whole thing is that the ranking system is making the game competitive and taking out the game part to make it more stressful. I know the killer side is not that much harder than it use to be (until someone DC's). Rather than punishing for DC's I think the Devs need to look at why players DC and start there. Can we please revert the game part back so people can just play. If anything needed to be done to the ranking they should encourage being at higher ranks by giving more blood points at higher ranks. Ranking still means nothing and the stress is now kinda crazy. I haven't played as much killer since the update. My games haven't been too bad but I do get DC's in most of them.
I think this was the wrong step for the game to take.

Yes for survivors it is a zero sum game. What that means is that there is no way for everyone to have equal opportunities to win. At red rank you need 3 golds/1 iri, 3 iri/1 bronze, or 2 iri/1 gold/1 silver.
If you NEVER get the chance to save or heal someone (which can happen because the killer is bad or just from dumb luck), you need to do 3 gens solo, get chased by the killer for something like 3 minutes, and NEVER get downed. Considering just Lightbringer and how other survivors are doing gens, you will NEVER get Iridescent in this emblem AND Evader unless it's a really long game and other survivors die super fast. But then if the killer decides to camp, or a survivor decides to die on a hook, POOF, it is now literally impossible to pip because you have 0 Benevolence.
If you only get to do 1 gen (which is extremely common) then that's silver Lightbringer. You need 2 iri's and a gold. Benevolence is the easiest to get iridescent but if the survivor is a potato and runs to the killer, or the killer tunnels that guy, you probably just lost points. Bye bye pip, it's now impossible. Assuming you can get that emblem, now you need 1 more iri and a gold. If you got down EVEN ONCE, including at the Exit Gate, you now need iri Evader. This means either 1) staying in the killer's terror radius for literally the ENTIRE game (and that game lasting more than 8 minutes), or escaping something like 6 chases. This is very unlikely not because it can't be done, but because you probably won't get the OPPORTUNITY to get it. Killer might chase you 4 times at most throughout the game. You can't reliably get iri Evader now. So basically you can not get a pip if you only get silver Lightbringer, UNLESS the game is excessively long, which almost never happens. Either survivors do gens and escape or the killer kills you all. Those long games are very rare. Now factor in the BS like camping, tunneling, OP add-ons, bad luck, bad survivors, DC's, and now pipping at red/purple ranks becomes a unicorn. You will safety pip a lot, and pip here and there, but due to BS you will depip enough to offset the few pips you have the OPPORTUNITY to get.
Also I agree with the killer part. I often just kill the third guy and give the last a chance for hatch. Hell I will catch them and straight up DROP them on the hatch. GG, I'm fine with letting someone go. But you can't do that on the new system at red ranks. I MUST KILL EVERYONE. If I don't, I lose my emblem. If I kill 3 I get only silver. And with Gatekeeper being mostly beyond my control as killer, I have to ensure I get as many points as possible for a pip. It means I have to play like a Dbag to get a 4k which I don't want to do. And while I'm currently rank 1 so yes I can afford to let people go NOW because I can just play for a safety pip, getting there is an entirely different story. It's not as lame as the survivor ranking system, but it honestly doesn't make the game better or more skillful. If survivors DC I'm basically forced to farm them, and even then it's likely I will just get a safety pip. It's not enjoyable.

I completely agree, the new ranking system is not fair at all. It prevents people from actually being able to have fun matches, where everyone has the opportunity to pip.

The new ranking system doesn't do anything about the complaining and it is only going to get worse. IMO.

I agree they need to seriously revert the emblem system I can do god knows what and be lucky to black pip
