(MATH) Sloppy Butcher will be SUPREME after its buff!!
At first, I thought slowing down the healing speed was a pretty nice quirk, and might give the perk some use. It was only today while I was actually pondering the changes however that I realized the potential it has in even medium-high rank builds. So I did a little math in my head and I finally found out that this perk while behave a little like BS after its change. While the difference in heal speed may not be initially noticeable, it's the number of heals in a game that gives it it's effectivity.
So, the proposed variable as mentioned on the Q&A was a 25% slowdown. Now, keep note that this is all subject to change as they continue to balance the various perks in the game. However this was the variable they mentioned and as such it's the one I'll be doing with the math. If they do change the actual slowdown, then just plug it in wherever the 25% was and it should yield accurate times even after the change.
The scenario we'll keep in mind is approaching a healing survivor(s) while they are nearing the would be end of their heal time. So in each instance we'll discuss what might happen as you track down a survivor by any means.
The base speed of a heal is 12 seconds if there are no items, add-ons, or perks, effecting the heal itself. That means with sloppy butcher 12 X 1.25 = 15. So the heal would take 3 seconds longer. 3 seconds may not seem like a lot, but it can still make a big difference. Let's suppose we go back to the example of one survivor healing another. You spot them with your nurses calling and start honing in like a shark. The survivors have two options. They can either stop healing and run, which leaves one survivor injured, or they can finish the heal at the cost of you being close at the end, allowing you to hit them and making the heal effectively worthless, reapplying the injured status and the mangled effect.
Killers move at 4.6m/s X 3 seconds means you would be 13.8 meters closer than if you had not been running sloppy butcher. Just for reference, 13.8 ÷ 28 = 49.2% of the range of nurses calling. So traveling half the distance gets you much closer than if you didn't run it. This is also assuming the see them at the very edge of nurses calling while they're at 12 of 15 seconds of healing. More likely in practice you'll see them sooner and be closer if you are nearby. So catching them at 9 seconds of heal progress will allow you to lunge attack them before the heal is complete.
But, there are more factors to take into account. Let's say both the survivors are injured. Since there is double the heal time, the effect of the mangled effect is doubled as well. So 3 X 2 = 6 + 24 = 30 seconds. Here's where sloppy butcher really gets effective though, is that your movement speed stays uniform throughout. So if 3 seconds = 49.2% of 28 meters, then 49.2 X 2 = 98.5% X 28 = 27.6 meters. Meaning that if you SEE them at any point before 24 seconds of healing (The EXACT amount of time at which both of them would be fully healed otherwise!!) In effect, changing a complete dodge of two survivors into a down or double injury, effectively making the heal time worthless. So let's say that wasted 30 seconds of the time both survivors were there healing, doubled by the number of survivors. You just saves yourself 60 seconds of progress on objectives. That's MASSIVE. Assuming you're able to use the perk to interrupt a heal or reapply the injured status, you can get a huge boost from it.
But we haven't even gotten into the nice part yet. It stacks with the large slowdown effect of self care. 50% + 25% =75%. 1.25 X 24 = 30 seconds. So in the event that you see a survivor self caring and it's almost complete, this perk with these stats will literally buy you EXACTLY enough time to cross the distance to reach them and down them before the heal in complete.
Additionally, remember that this effect applies for EVERY heal done that game. Let's say that 80% of heals in a game are done with self care, and you hit survivors ONLY enough to down and hook them, and don't hit them on any other occasion. 12 X 0.8 = 9.6 round up to 10. 10 X 6 = 60 seconds of the course of the game, IN ADDITION to the time they would've spent healing. 24 × 10 = 240 + 60 = 300 or exactly 5 MINUTES. Assuming 240 is the regular amount that represents not just 25% longer on heals, but increasing match time used healing significantly. Looking at the big picture, that's increasing your time sink that could be spent on objectives by a minute per match! 240 X 1.25 = 300. In other words, this perk is going to be pretty damn good in combination with other perks in a heal stopper based build. Running this in combination with something like nurses calling, ruin, and overcharge could buy you time on gens, and increased tracking, and increased heal time all alike. Definitely something I would consider running.

I am for sure going to be giving this perk a test drive. With the changes to selfcare where stopping the heal resets the progress sloppy butcher is going to be amazing. It will keep the survivors occupied quite a bit as they try to heal. Now imagine cancer doc with 2 calm addons, distressing, claustrophobia, sloppy butcher and nurses calling. No more healing, its going to be delicious.

It will take 42 seconds to get a standard selfcare off with that cancer build. If they stop at all it will reset all progress. Going to be really working the salt mines with it.

Sloppy butcher will be decent against people using self-care extensively to make them overly safe.
Which is a good change overall because it will make SC to be costy to these players, rather than a free way to safety.4 -

Harder and longer to heal will mean people injured more often or not healing at all which if thats the case Thanataphobia will be doing some good work.

Thana will still suck. Numbers are just too low to be worth it in any case.
At least in my opinion, it will never be worth a perk slot. You'd better get something to actually help you snowballing than an unsignificant debuff.0 -

Anyone know if the Sloppy Butcher Mangled would affect Doctors Snap Out of It as well? Since there seems to be some confusion on what does/doesn't affect healing stuff with the Doc. Like they mentioned Coulrophobia not affecting Snap Out of It but then Botany Knowledge and Nurse's Calling still work for it.
