you guys gotta learn a lot from Identity V (PC version):

@Peanits the gameplay itself sucks, however they have a very complete reward-based systems, rooms of chat, teams, portraits, rare killers/survs, you really feel way more like a community but inside the game

DBD needs to improve a lot the rewards (prestige and devotion are tremendously ridiculous)

I can make a more in-detail list later, if Identity V improves the gameplay itself, would be great

So far: community inside and rewards 10/10, gameplay 6/10

mild vets like me ~600hrs start to get bored of DBD

I really need rewards to keep playing and currently there is no reward, plz @Peanits have a look at the rich, rich, riiiich identity V reward system! is so cool and complete that even motivates to play it, and it sucks

Indeed, gameplay sucks but the rewards + community systems are awkward

Honestly, here's what I think. A quaint little asymmetric horror game for a mobile device is fine. IDV moves over to the PC, and, well, the gameplay sucked. That's true. But then this monstrosity called DBD came along, finding out about its younger twin and decided to basically take its territory. It was just a console/PC game, but now it's taking it a step further. Its turning to mobile. Everything about IDV mobile is perfect and fun. From it's childlike art style to a complex fantastical storyline. (It also has 0 ads, which is surprising for a mobile game.) DBD is perfect for console because it's quite a large game. Amazing graphics and all. But it's just taking IDV's space. Less and less people will play IDV and it will be forgotten... Like with waluigi in smash ultimate.

Apparently the EU version still lacks a balance patch the asian version already got, biffing the killers a lot (or ita outdated rumor lol).

I wonder whats the problem with the artstyle, its fitting and rather burton-esque.

I like that they dont hide killer power potential behind addons, but the presence system sucks for those who got nothing at the start.

And oracle is nearly brokenly omnipresent once the game announces the amusement park or lakeside map.

But still, rank rewards, proper rankings , crazy killer concepts (photographer or dream witch O.o ), and a damn lovecraftian tentacle guy.

And the gardener is cute, no wonder her dad keeps beating up all those guys around her, lol.

I actually do think there is quite a bit this game could learn from identity V.

For example I think the persona system is superior to DBD's perk system.

And that while unbalanced, the character system is in theory more interesting than what DBD has.

    For example, take Forward.

He's able to stun the Hunter, dash really fast and far, vaults faster than other survivors and pallet stuns by him last longer. Not to mention he struggles out much quicker.

However he's kept in check by the fact that he is much slower at making gen progress, meaning that the Killer will often just ignore him in favor of other Survivors entirely.

Compare that to a Survivor using Dead hard and other chase oriented perks, the Killer will have no idea which survivor's are running it before hand and if the Killer tries to ignore them in favor of other survivors they will just go on gens with no downside.

Using this kind of system Identity V can have a much larger variety of mechanics without ruining the games integrity

Until everyone plays the characters that make chases as miserable as possible for killers, which severely offsets the whole "slow gen progress" thing.

Identity V Survivors each have unique abilities and play a certain role in the team, making their gameplay a lot more diverse than DBD. There are some cool abilities I would love to see adapted DBD as new perks: the Cowboy's lasso allowing you to rescue another Survivor from a distance, Magicians power to become temporarily invisible, Mechanic's ability to control a life-size doll that breaks in one hit and maybe even the Coordinator's Flare Gun. That said, they would all have to be heavily rebalanced and come with many restrictions.

Some Hunters, like Soul Weaver and Feaster, have interesting abilities that could inspire future DBD Killers. Universal Hunter skills, like Blink and Teleport, could become DBD perks and help weaker Killers with some of their issues.

There's also a visual cue before a skill check, which would be much appreciated here.

@Orion With one exception all of the characters could only be selected once per match. So only 1 Survivor could use the Super good at chases survivor.

There is even a banning system for ranked matches.

    Plus it's a debuff of like 30%.

Even with all of that though there are more than 5 Survivors that are good in chases. Like I said the specifics were unbalanced. But fundamentally the system is really cool.

Identity V is even worse than this game. Hundreds of pallets, infinite loops, broken characters like prospector and perfumer, ciphers are even easier to do, hunters are forced to camp (boring). It also runs like crap in some regions including Europe. Identity V should learn from dbd not the other way round.

Now now. Just because the game is otherwise bad doesn't mean it get's EVERYTHING wrong.

DbD has already established itself as a game that allows you to play whoever and whatever you want. This would create a major shitstorm, and for good reason.

Sure sure. That particular aspect wouldn't work. But the more arctype focus with how identity v handles things maybe could work somehow?

    Probably not but eh.

Well I personally would like those killer-subskills like "teleport to a generator", "teleport 5m in the direction youre facing", "place a vision ward".

Its not only the implementation of items/skills/etc but also the balancing in the context of the game. Putting those IDV items in dbd as they are wouldnt work.

Also think HELL EMBER would be awesome in dbd and a near perfect implementation of a "puppet"-killer (although im sure the whole charge mechanism for autonomous puppets wouldnt make the cut for.... certain reasons)

I am motivated enough to play DbD. In no other game do I get so many hate messages from sore loser babies. It fills me with joy to waste some entitled kids time and make them feel so frustrated. Thanks DbD!

It gets most things wrong though. Their character design is great though, (I'd really like photographer in dbd). He'll make a really fun jumpscare killer while being able slow the game down with the photoworld.
