Another MoM Post
I have no problem with second chance perks being a thing in this game. The issue is that with all of them combined, even random people who are not coordinating in a SWF are now just walking infront of you not caring at all in the world.
Playing a killer without the ability to instant down they know they don't have to play safe. You down someone, they will just block you to any hook you go to since they can walk faster then you. I've had five games in a row today where two will always be right in my way no matter what I did. Baiting those hits, knowing that in the end, one person will go through the gens easily enough when you don't have ruin.
I should clarify that these are green ranks so they understand how to loop, hugging those walls scraping face along the wood just so they can get that iota of extra turning when they go through a opening. I know I played non swf's because they were not coordinated on what gen's done and most three genned themselves but it did not matter. Just getting someone to death hook was a choir in of itself, then having two people hump your leg to do a block was beyond frustrating. Two games also mixed in borrowed time, which was also a nice irritation added onto it.
The fact of the matter here is that the developers really need to send a clear message as to what they want this game to be. A arcade game with horror face or for people who play as the survivors to be wary of the killer ala a horror game.
I dislike greatly the fact that this perk when mixed with other perks, and add-on's just cause players to step in front of the killer and bully them in that regard. It is incredibly frustrating that this is becoming the normal state of affairs. Folks are calling this DS 2.0 but I never had people body blocking me when DS was normal. I'd say this perk is far worse.
I am not looking for criticism on my play or the standard 'play killers that counter it' because that is not what this post is about. It is purely to state that the brazen attitude of survivors now is going to have a detrimental effect on many people who play the game.
For any that may have skipped many points of MoM and why it is unhealthy for the game;
it is confirmed to be bugged that attacks that don't give a token right now are supposed to.
The negative effect of being seen can be negated by healing to 99%.
It soaks instants when it is active.
It requires bad play on survivors to get those tokens; IE: Getting hit on purpose.
Mixing it with the current Meta of do not heal - push gens - allows for a easy out of many situations as perks that survivors have that are supposed to be 'situational' are becoming easy to activate.
We are all aware that the pressure is on the killer for time. Not the survivors, chase extenders mixed with second chances adds alot of time to the chase clock.
I am not discussing a displeasure of not being able to 'EaSy 4K' here. When random players, who know what they are doing can severely abuse the combination of perks/add-on's to their advantage to bully the one player they are against.
I ask you now, who holds the power in the game? I do not feel it is the killer anymore. When this perk is used in the fashion as I described it really takes things out of your ability to control when you play just m1 killers.
I didn't start playing till after the legion chapter, but i hear back in the day body blocking was a thing. Seems it is going to come back into style.
