With too many perks in the game now

Do you think its time to increase the number of perks you can use from 4 to 5?

No it would make this game even more difficult to balance. Think of all those unbalanced combos you can run.

    ABSOLUTELY

But I would be more happy with 6-8 slots

Oh dear god that's a terrible idea, do you know how Hag would just usurp the top position? With 5 perks she can run Sloppy Butcher, Ruin, Thanatophobia, STBFL and a Nurses calling? That wouldn't have any counterplay and you'd 4k effortlessly. 5 perks would be way too big of a buff to killers like Hag. It wouldn't change Nurse much, but Hag, Billy and Spirit would definitely surpass Hag.

I can just imagine this on Spirit, Sloppy butcher, BBQ, Save the best for last, A Nurses calling and Monitor and Abuse. Dear god, killers would become broken.

Omg imagine Billy with Ruin, Enduring, Spirit fury, Bamboozle and BBQ. That would be soooo broken.

I disagree, it'd be way too big of a buff to killers and the game would completely tilt off the balance. What we really need, is buffs to the weaker perks so that all can be viable and it's tough to choose 4, and a bunch of metas rise.

The devs are already buffing the weaker perks.

We could see how much change would that provide on PTB, wouldn't hurt.

Although i would love to have more perks i have a bad feeling about that

I'd go as far as going up to 6 perks, shake the meta up a bit with some ludicrous builds for both killer and survivor, if they ever decide to add more objectives like Hallowed Blight increasing the amount of survivors to 5 or 6 as-well could breath new life into a game.

No because that would sorta break the feeling of the game

For the killers, perhaps. The survivors are already outnumbering the killer.

    No.

I've been having a blast playing as survivor without any perks.

Just use voice and you get around 16 perks.

4 perks is fine but something needs to be change about the base design of the game.

For years all my killers run BBQ and Hex: Ruin. I hate both of these perks but ruin is necessary on most killers that lack map pressure. BBQ is a good perk but I'd rather use other perks. However the BP grind in this game is so steep that not running BBQ makes it unbearable.

Killers and survivors should have more ways to increase their BP gain. Or better yet, BP gain should not be tied to perks. Something should also be done about generators being done too quick. As someone who likes to main myers I feel like my games are decided on how fast ruin is destroyed.

instead of putting a 5th slot perk why not making 8vs2 or something

the game is broken only for use 4 perks...

Keep the perks as they are. Part of the fun of the game is having to choose only four perks that work for your play style.

5 perks for killers, sure. It would be a small step towards catching up to SWF's 13 perks per survivor.

For those struggling to figure out the math, it's 4 perk slots + 9 free perks with VoIP.

No. Sorry if you're terrible at playing killer but 5 perk slots will make this game unplayable.

Think about the bullshit combos you can run

    Devour

    Thrill

    Ruin

    Whispers

    Bbq

    Or

    Thanat

    Sloppy

    Coulrophobia

    Distressing

    Dark devotion

No because first off we would go down the rabbit hole of can we add 6 perks now how about 7 how about 8? 4 is fine any increase will just increase crying on both sides.

  • Raptorrotas
    Raptorrotas Member Posts: 3,253

I dont think that 5 perks are too unreasonable on both sides, although it would definitely require reworks of other mechanics too.

Personally I'd test to restrict the first slot to the teachables of a character (both sides). This would probably create survivor metas though.

Another thing to consider would be to reduce the total number of perks, merge them (botany + we'll make it for example), make them basekit or outright remove the unused perks.

If I had 5 perks as Myers, you know the hell I would create?

A tier 1 or 2 Myers with Boyfriend's Memo with extra EW1 Lunge and Dead Rabbit for -4 terror radius.

    My perks:

    Thanatophobia

    Monitor and Abuse

    Hex: Devour Hope

    Discordance (or Surveillance)

Barbeque and Chili (or Nurse's Calling)

Do you really want to face a killer like this who knows how to play this way? No, I'll keep it simple and quick, no you don't.

I think for survivors I could see going 5 or 6 with 3 of those being the perks specific to each survivor. But it's probably just fine how it is now.

  • Bug_Reporter

Survivors should only be able to use 2 or 3 perks while killers should be able to use 5 or even 6, a CWF breaks the game mostly because of the number of "invisible perks" they have due to communication and also broken perk spams like MoM, BT, Self Care, Adrenaline, etc.

    No.

It was 4 from the beginning when there were barely any perks and it should stay that way. We don't need either side putting another overused meta perk in their loadout , thanks.
