Spirit main, rank 1 on Xbox since she came out. My main build is BBQ, Ruin, Surveillance, Stridor with speed/duration. Other killers; Trapper, Freddy, Plague, Huntress, Hag, Billy, and Nurse.

Prayer Beads are dumb honestly. Most Spirits use it and just constantly try to get grabs on you, which is a lame survivor experience and just results in everyone playing immersed and not one doing gens. Besides being boring for both sides (IDK about you but searching for immersed survivors is not fun unless they suck at it), it's not a very skillful thing to do.

I have like +50 of Prayer Beads (and amulets), so I decided to play some games with the PB/amulet combo. This is honestly almost broken. You can be right there and the survivors have no idea. It would be so easy SO EASY to just grab them. Like stupid easy. BROKEN levels of easy.

I refused to do that so I would just stand there until my power ran out and just hit them normally. Stand by the window in shack and they can't use it, they have to take the pallet. If there is more than 1 they will sandbag each other. Survivors get scared and its fun so I see the value in Prayer Beads being an AMAZING jump scare, but I think that the ability to grab out of phase walk should be removed. This encourages healthy survivors to do gens, as injured survivors would just go down, and gives some level of counter play to Prayer Beads that wouldn't make them stupid easy.

    The free hits are OP enough. But yah, grabs make it a pretty cheap add-on.

    Good survivors can still hear her footsteps though, and most bead users are too greedy for grabs and play in a predictable way.

    Also, gen tapping counters grabs, but slows progress.

    @Shad03 My grabs turn into hits often, I think its due to latency, the survivor seems to break out of it if they reacted quick enough, but the packets just didn't reach the killer before starting the grab. Although 100% failure sounds like a bug for you...

    Since I counter it fairly well, I don't mind it being left as is. OP add-ons should have a trade-off though, maybe make it so the spirit receives no speed boost while in phase, no matter her other add-ons, or unable to grab as thesuicidefox said.

    It's just from someone that plays Spirit without PB, when I use them I can see how ridiculous they really are. If I run Surveillance with it you won't be able to touch a gen after I kick it. It just makes the game lame for both sides IMO.

    I don't see the harm in removing the ability to grab. The add-on would still be insanely powerful. Just not lame.

    Did you use only Prayer beads or did you use the ring also? The ring + surveillance makes the build BS so I understand where you are coming from with this post. I main spirit also and would like to say I am pretty sure it might be impossible to win against a spirit with PB+ Ring + Surveillance

    When she was released prayer beads did not do what they do now which is why they made them purple even though they were utter garbage on her launch. People saved them up cause why use them if they sucked so bad. They changed how they worked and now are one of the most used addons for her cause of how strong it is. I don't think you need to do anything to it. Just be aware of where spirit is on the map. Grass can help you if you see it move and you can tell when she phases cause of the glass crackles

    Grabs are bugged and prevent grabs even when you CLEARLY grabbed them.

    I don’t run Prayer Beads a lot. I know what it is like to go against PB, it isn’t fun. It is cheap. Although if I run into the same toxic SWF group again then I’ll easily put on a russian roulette build with PB and an Ebony.

    The rarity should be switched with Father’s Glasses. Last time I ran Father Glasses I didn’t even see blood whle phasing. I don’t know if it is broken or not.

    I honestly believe that the Spirit’s footsteps and breathing while phasing with Prayer Beads should be enhanced a little on the survivors side. It is very unfun to go against Prayer Beads.

    I find amulet a better combo because it stills lets you chase effectively. Mother's Ring is strong too but sometimes not having scratch marks can make it hard to chase. Then since I can chase I can drop Stridor and put on NOED. PB + Ruin + Surv + NOED. That's a little ridiculous there.

    Survivors can easily stop stealth players from most killers with spine chill. Yet they choose not to. I never leave home without spine chill and never got gen grabbed.

    Since survivors don't use spine chill, it's on them. Survivors can easily prevent pig, wraith, spirit, tier 2 meyers, tinkerer, small terror radius sneak ups with this one perk that also gives benefits. But they don't. Survivors have the tool to make that add on worthless almost, but most don't do it. I run spine chill and every survivor I know who runs spine chill don't have that problem. Spine chill lights up, you dip.

    Prayer beads are the only thing that make her somewhat useable. If anything, they should be a baseline trait.

    Dude do you even play Spirit. She is entirely usable without PB.

    All you guys are literally asking for easy mode. That's what PB is, it's dumb. How someone can think they are fair in any way makes me question their skills as killer.

    Heaven forbid that killers need to use a little skill. 😏

    Prayer Beads are fine, Premonition, Spine Chill ect. counter it.

    If you don't like to play around it with gen tapping use those perks.

    But that's my point. When I use PB, AS KILLER, the game becomes mad boring because people just stop doing gens. If I couldn't grab them, then you can do a gen while healthy and I can still hit you coming out of phase walk. I still get a free hit and you don't get instant-death.

    Like really how can you guys defend this? Prem/Spine Chill won't make a difference against an actual top tier Spirit player.

    Truth. Grabs are super broken. The survivor just runs away half way through the grab animation, without even getting hit half the time.

    u clearly don't play her or you're just really bad with her. she's A tier for a reason.

    tell me how I can use my intuition to deny the spirit a free hit? I sure hope you don't mean listening to footsteps 3 feet away or watching for grass to move 2 feet away, as that only denies a grab, not the cheese free hit they get

    no, making something rare doesnt make it balanced in the slightest, it's still incredibly broken

    dude your right. just let me go back to lobby to throw those on when I see a prayer beads spirit, ez! it's hardly justifiable to use such low tier perks in case you get this specific killer and add-on. there is counterplay in spirit's base phase sound, prayer beads completely remove that.

    I would love to see a Prayer Beads/ Father's Glasses Spirit go up against the depip squad.

    Let's see how op that add on combo really is.

    This I run them occasionally and smart survivors as well as ones that run that perk can generally avoid getting hit let alone grabbed.


    I've never once been gen grabbed by a Spirit running those except when I wanted that last 1-2% ona gen.

    Don't take offense to this, but if you were a top tier Spirit, and I mean absolutely mastered her, it wouldn't matter what survivors run. Prayer Beads are RIDICULOUS. You can basically do whatever you want and no one will know. You can moonwalk to avoid Spine Chill, or change targets often to avoid Prem. No extra perks needed.

    Good survivors would not stand a chance against a Spirit of this level using PB. I don't even feel like I'm at that point myself but I can see the potential in these things. It's more than omega blink/5 blink Nurse levels of OP.

    Removing grabs wouldn't make them much less OP. BUT it would at least force killers to play more tactically and give survivors opportunities to counter play. As of right now, SC/Prem are pretty much the only counter play options, and as I mentioned you can beat them both pretty easy. If she had to hit you then at least survivors would come out of the woodwork and do gens when healthy. If they get hit, that starts a chase, other survivors do gens. The game keeps flowing. Right now it just feels like once I kill someone using PB with gens left NO ONE ELSE will do gens. They just stop doing them and wait for me to find someone. It's boring, hence why I refuse to grab because after a while survivors end up doing gens since they see I won't grab them.

    The game is just better for both sides, and PB is still VERY strong. I don't see why you wouldn't just remove the ability to grab when using this add-on.

    Seriously every killer i come across even on the same killer will have some perks different by preference, sure you will see some common ones like SF and Enduring on M1 killers but there are generally some changes. Some prefer BBQ at their tracker, Whispers, Bitter Murmur, i personally adore Brutal Strength rather than Spirit Fury.

    Generally with survivors it's an overpowered Meta build like the one above and instead of altering that to suit what some killers are running they just cry nerf about every threat to their 2nd chance godhood.

    Prayer Beads are a rare addon ive only had 2 of them ever and i must have done 70 or so Bloodwebs, yes they are purple but they seem rarer than the Iri addons.

    Grabs generally happen because you're not running a killer tracking perk or you're not paying enough attention to your surroundings.

    @GraviteaUK I have 40+ and I have 25+ wards on Spirit. I can play something like 60 games in a row right now using Prayer Beads. If I took my BP and just dump it back into Spirit I can get probably a 75% return on either it, meaning I could play another 45 games. A total of over 100 games with Prayer Beads. They are not that hard to come by.

    Even if they were a green common they are countered by 1 survivor perk and it's not even a teachable.

    The same perk that also counters several other killers you still have a counter you just choose not to run it.

    They are fine.
