How Would 2v8 be if is ever added in the game
Now the whole idea of a 2v8 isn't all that bad all things considered. But the better question is will it ever happen?
Now a 2v8 mode is by glance a really good idea. It brings a new way to freshen the game and make it even more fun. Might even bring killer mains who left the game a reason to return just to try out this new 2v8 mode. Plus, imagine the killer teamups that would show up. Like the classic Doctor and Nurse, Billy and Leatherface, Two Legions, Huntress and Clown, and I'm sure many other killer team up combinations that some, and maybe all of you can think of better than what I can at the moment.
But how would it ballance out? Well one thing, since there are more survivors, there needs to be more gens, because 5 gens vs 8 survivors, is just calling for an even shorter match than what gens already get on a daily. A special map for 2v8, because most maps, especially small maps aren't a good place for 2v8, due to gens being too close to each other, and we don't want 2 killers chasing after 1 survivor. That would just be a recipe for disaster.
Finally a server to hold 10 people at the same time. Since it is a 2v8, is 10 people on one server, and this is not counting various of multiple servers that would be in the game.
Finally, finally this 2v8 would need to be separated from rank in a way. Because I'm sure if this ever goes live then it would put people less likely to play the normal matches. So there's that to ballance out.
Finally, finally, finally certain perks like Devour Hope, Ruin, and just the normal Tolem perks build for the normal 1v4 would need to be given a soft rework when used on the 2v8 modes.
When looked at, there are a lot of things that need to be worked on when you try and add the 2v8 mode. Is a lot more complex. Balancing is key, and we can all agree that the game isn't the most balance at the moment. At least not 100% of the time.

Adding a 2v8 mode would be bad, with all due respect of course. But with the current state of the game and how long it already takes to find a game a 2v8 would make the loading times worse for players choosing to opt out of 2v8 (by playing just the normal 1v4) On top of the loading times for base game the loading times for 2v8 would be terrible due to a separation and requiring double the players to start.

While I understand your concern about the state of the game. A lot of the long wait times is due to players leaving. Be it because of various of imbalancing and so on. However, we know how long devs will take for them to decide to fix these issues. So maybe instead of trying to fix the problem (which I do hope they do), they can instead attract the veteran players back with the 2v8, and give people a reason to continue to play the game.
While I still greatly understand the problem, is also on us to strengthen the community. We can't let the devs try and fix everything. Since as we see they did a "Pretty good job so far." ;)
This is less to fix issues, and more to keep the game relevant than in the dying state that is becoming. We need a reason for people to continue to play the game, and we all know Mr. Pretty Good Job So Far, isn't doing much right now. With all due respect I have for him.
