1/2 BPs next match for DC players...

I believe it's a penalty which would discourage the practice, without penalizing too harshly for non-intentional DCs.

I have NO idea what's capable to engineer or design in this game...I just think it would be a satisfactory punishment. Would be nice to imagine an increased progressive penalty as well.

Game not going your way? Feel like DCing? What if the next game is epic? Willing to bet half your BPs?

The ONLY way to get back to 100% BPs is to see a match to completion. Even if that means the next match, you run up to a killer, get hooked and die on hook...fine, but if you had done that in the first place, you wouldn't be penalized with half your BPs to begin with.

bE would never go for it....but I would take it one step further...I'd force a cosmetic change as well. Characters who DC....in the next match, they are forced to wear a shirt that is neon yellow and has a DC symbol on it.

Of course bE would consider this "name and shame", but I think, IF it's possible...why not?

you already identified a problem with this idea, and it's kind of a big one too. right now if someone dc's they just move on to the next game. if what you proposed was added they would dc, then die on hook immediately next game ruining even more matches for others

Survivors already have really bad amount of BPs for good match ... so it will not change anything ... and another fact is that killers for really bad match for example if he will hit everyone for once and hook at least 1 person and all other will DC he already is getting like 14k BPs, Where is here logic? For what he gets these points?

Personally I can see this pushing newer players off but for someone like me for example the only thing separating me from a disconnect is if I'm having fun or not. However I don't rage DC regardless. Point being though when you reach a certain point of progression in this game bloodpoints mean nothing. For players like me this wouldn't really do anything as I have all perks unlocked and a large stockpile of inventory stuff.

Regarding the cosmetic mark of shame I've actually said this before but I didn't think anyone would go for it. I've suggested the survivor / killer wear a dunce hat if they DC a lot but I don't think you could get away with this for licensed characters. Although there's something funny about imagining a Basement Bubba wearing a dunce hat.

My personal opinion would be BHVR should create a type of matchmaking that puts players who disconnect a lot with other players who disconnect a lot. But then again what happens if you have 4 disconnecting survivors in one game vs a normal killer? Why punish the killer for survivor actions?

The only other option I see is a short queue timer restriction that escalates for each DC and only deescalates when you play a set amount of games. This is the most common suggestion but something light to test the waters then move it up based on feedback like

    First Disconnect - 1 Minute

    Second Disconnect - 2 Minutes

    Third Disconnect - 5 Minutes

Playing about 5 games would lower the next penalty back to the previous tier. I wouldn't make those numbers high because then people start making smurf accounts. Keep them short enough that switching accounts would be redundant but make it an annoyance to keep DC'ing.

Also my main bias is still we should address the reasons players DC in the first place but since this was a suggestion for punishment thread the rest is above.

i think if you DC, you should not be allowed to enter a new lobby, until the round has finished.

also, you lose all your BP, 2 pips and your items. that way there is only downsides to DCing and ppl would probaply stop it, as they wouldnt be able to just move on into the next game.
