Hatch Needs to be addressed!
Today I witnessed some major bull that happened while I was playing killer. Now, before I go on about my topic I do wish to inform everyone that I know it's part of the game but should it be? While I was going against a 4-man team with mics (I know it was a 4 man because 2 of them were twitchies) I was completely jerked from a game that should have been mine and let me explain why.
So, I had Remember Me, Ruin, Pop Goes The Weasel, and NOED to go with my Rember Me. At first I was doing pretty good I was protecting the gens that seemed important on one side of the map to let them swarm it so I could actually 3 gen the other side. I got my 6 Remember Me stacks and I killed my obsession but the survivors had completed 4/5 gens and had given me the advantage by having 3 gens close together.
At first, they were trying to get the last gen but I was guarding them pretty well and I had that game in the bag, it was 100% mine to win until the stopped going for them because they were all 1 hook and did not want to die so what did they do? Because they had a key, they looked for the hatch and found it and escaped because of it.
- I didn't even know the hatch could spawn with 3 people alive and 1 gen left to do why is that even allowed?
- Because they messed up with the gens I knew I had pretty much won and they gave me that opportunity to which they should have been punished for.
- I know there is also an achievement for getting everyone out but that should only take place if the gens are all done.
Basically what I am trying to say is that the hatch should not be an alternative way out for survivors unless it's the last one alive or all the gens have been completed. Not for all 3 or 4 people to just leave because they did 4/5 gens and don't even need to do the last one. I am so pissed off at that loss that I refuse to continue playing until the hatch has been worked on to allow killers to have their game when survivors make mistakes like that. I didn't even pip that game because of them escaping through the hatch even though I played so well.

I mean considering the next patch is literally called endgame collapse I will be shocked if the hatch is unchanged.

END GAME COLLAPSE
The upcoming mid-chapter will feature a major update to the end game. The objective of these changes is to make the end game more dynamic and exciting. We will reveal the new End Game Collapse in a video next week.

Thank you, I am a little less pissed now but still not enough to go back to playing DBD right now.

Where do I go to see them?

@Rescultir yeah. Personally I'm waiting for them to fix the Spirit's audio bug

That mid-chapter patch did not solve my issue but it does help for the end game.

Hey, if you find them when they are using a key, you can shut the Hatch on them before all of them can jump. Certainly not ideal, but it is something.

hatch is fine. in a game where a mori exists, which can cut the time of a trail in half, there should be a item for survivors which can compete. (key still WAAAY weaker ofcause). anyone who denies that is not objective

I think if someone finds a key in a chest (the first time), there should be a game-wide notification. That way the killer and solo survivors are able to adapt to the situation.
Other than that, I see no reason to change anything. You have the option to prepare for one in the lobby.

This becomes a situation of being aware. See a survivor running with a key? Get rid of them asap, preferably in the basement.

Bye! you won’t be missed! You screwed up by letting 4 gens get done.

Certainly, and that's why there needs to be a notification. It is unreasonably difficult to notice a key in-game (allies and killers alike), and god forbid a Claudette is the one who finds it.

It should be weaker. If a killer uses a Mori even if they don't use it, it's gone forever. A key stays unless you die or use it without that addon. Furthermore, the keys are items. A Mori is an offering. Also, a surv can use the key to bs the killer and escape. It is so unsatisfactory. You are patrolling the gens or searching the map and you don't even really notice but the game ends. Or you see it out of the corner of your eye, the remaining survs just exiting. It doesn't hurt them. It doesn't do anything for them but good. They live and recieve points for escaping and opening the hatch. And they all get to use it. Not the one, but all.
But a mori denies points, it denies emblems, it denies post game rewards and ranking up. Also, you get ebonies much less than purple keys. Furthermore, a mori gives the other survs a chance, allowing them to run and hide.
The point is, moris are costly. Keys are not.
As of right now, it's balanced. But hopefully that changes accidentally and killer gets a few misplaced bonuses. I like my survivors slightly salted.

2 things...
- this is the perfect example of Necroing a thread
- While the comparison of a key to a mori is...fair, The point system for hatch escapes are not. If a killer mori's a survivor, they screw themselves out of points, both BPs and emblems. For some reason though, a hatch escape is actually worth MORE points than a gate escape.

To be fair, OP necro'd their own thread, which is okay in my book because they wish to revive a discussion they originally started.
