Fun with devour hope

So this is just a post about an actual play experience, not advice or looking for advice or anyting.

So I was a mid-tier killer until these changes, now I'm getting closer to the low-end, and unfortunately lately it's not just about pipping I seem to be getting less kills than I used to as well, and I'm not sure why. It's a little frustrating.

Anyway I decided to play a trapper with hexes, the idea being to put a trap in front of every hex as well as using thrill of the hunt to try to catch people trying to cleanse them. I ran thrill of the hunt, Ruin, devour hope, and huntresses lullaby. I would have run haunted grounds instead but I don't have it unlocked for him yet.

We were in yamoko estate, and after I got a couple of traps laid down, they started finding my hexes quickly, I was in the middle of a couple chases and hooked two people but in the meantime I lost every one of my hexes very quickly.

Except for devour hope. They never found it.

at first they were running me pretty hard, they also got three generators done before I got my third hook, but then they were exposed, and things started to snowball after that, got two more hooks, devour hope fully loaded, and eventually I killed by my own hand three of them, the fourth one unfortunately found the hatch.

It was the first time devour hope ever really gave me anything for its investment, but that one time I had a great deal of fun, it was very nice. Hopefully devour hope will do it for me again.

honestly though most of the time I actually hate running hexes, I feel like I have to be defending them instead of pursuing survivors, about the only time I like running hexes is with tag or trapper, since I can put up some defenses for them. Otherwise I just feel so stressed wanting to defend them that it doesn't seem worth it. Except perhaps no one escapes death.

Devour hope is one of the most fun, powerful, frustrating, useless perks all at once lol

luckily I play for fun so I have no problem if they find it and when they don’t its sooo enjoyable

Yup, that's exactly why i run Devour Hope 24/7.

I love the reward it can grant you.

I agree it's fun to be able to get free kills with it.

As long as they don't find it and you have fun.
