DBD Archives: Early Alpha Days!
This video really touched my heart, it shows me how much our favorite game improved and where it started. You'll see that a lot of things improved since the alpha phase and you might be surprised with how things were back then such as the HUD display, attack animation, graphics, and etc!
Community Task:
Do you see anything that would be a great edition to bring out from the alpha and implement to the current build? Personally, I would like to see the basement get its red light back and see the alpha graphics make its return, it really gave me the chills to see how creepy the basement looked back then!

I just miss the old lighting. Especially in the main menu. They changed it to be super bright during howling grounds 2018 and never went back.
The Christmas menu looks more spooky than the default one we have now.

Trapper could put a trap under a hooked survivors feet to make saves 100% impossible.

Sabotage was meta for that reason (besides permanent hooks) because traps were being used to camp and they didn't respawn as well.

Forgot about the basement's red light treatment... definitely feels more eerie. Grab animation feels more brutal, too.
And how about that Jake high-stepping run animation? LoL Good times.

I like that the camera follows you as you are lifted into the sky when you die.

They mainly changed it because maps were too dark; making it easy for survivors to remain basically unseen from most distances.

At 14:00 he grabs the survivor by the legs. Wish we had a sped up version of that. Really gives me the chills just looking at the animation.

The old maze tiles - I don't miss that at all.
And if you think bleedouts were bad now - camping sabotuer's spines to punish them would drag a match out FOREVER.
And omg... so many pallets.

The grab animation for vaulting is something I dearly need in this game.
I also would like the darker lighting for that very purpose of hiding in plain sight. Of course, that would mean that the developers would have to make the sounds of breathing and running louder, both of which they have issues doing either because they can't or won't. I don't think I've heard a single footstep from a killer since they tried to buff stealthier killers. I don't find it helpful as a survivor or killer.
Considering a player dead as soon as the entity pierces them (so, yeah, duh they're not coming back from that) would be welcome, and so would be a change to how survivors lose time on hooks upon being unhooked/re-hooked.

Oh wow, that's not as bad as i tought it would be for an alpha, i really love the old lobby screen, it looks so good and better than the current one imo.
I miss the old bear trap animation tho, idk why they changed it when they buffed trapper, it looks so stupid now when you set them up, the window grab seemed broken as hell but looked really cool on the survivor side imo.
