Thanatophobia. AGAIN.

I would like to talk about Thanatophobia. AGAIN. Not only did this perk become rubbish, it’s still not working properly. When a survivor is dropped to the ground 3 times or carried to the hook - the survivor leaves the match (DC). Amazing right? (NO) And Thana stops working. All. The game believes that these people are out and that means they are not dead or injured. Why? What kind of nonsense? When will this perk be revised?

I see no reason to take this perk. Not only did he become trash after the "balance", he still does not work normally.

I doubt they'll ever fix it

It seems unreasonable that survivors should be punished for their teamate doing something selfish. Its nothing in either side's control and only caused by one's own ineptness at playing this game.

There's no reason why killers should stand to benefit more by a disconnect when they already get the benefit of a three man game. Besides that, nothing the survivors do can stop that from happening, which essentially means no counterplay.

Its fair to say that killers certainly are being cheated out of their own reward by disconnects, however more bloodpoints and an emblem adjustment should fix this problem. There's no point in fixing what's not broken and survivors are just going to be punished for something they didn't do, so there's no real point.

    Edit: Grammar.

How is this fair? Did you play the game? Imagine, you carry the survivor to the hook and he must die, and all those who survive must receive a negative state from the perk. But no. This survivor leaves the game and that's it. And what do you think is fair? Funny.

Report this in the bug forums so the devs can take note of it.

@VSLl Yeah I've played the game I can tell you right now that 4% doesn't mean jack #########. If a survivor DCs, then the whole team just lost someone who could hook save or do gens. And you know what? That in of itself slows the game down way more than Thanatophobia.

Let's look at this logically: if the killer is applying pressure, then someone should be on the hook and one person should be in a chase. So, 2 people are involved the hook save (one of which isn't contributing anything to the team), 1 is busy doing gens, and the last person being chased. If a person DCs, then that shifts priorities. One person has to hook save and one other person has to be chased. The last person is on the hook. No one is doing gens or even if that person got saved, there is one less possible person on gens, slowing the game down immensely.

If you're salty a survivor just DCed before they got to a hook, then that survivor just did one of two things. If the survivor was on death hook, then that debuff doesn't matter because it was going to go away soon enough. If they've still got some life in them though, then they just unnaturally sped up the trial in your favor.

So tell me: what are you complaining about? A DC is much more valuable than a simple Thanat. stack.

I'm complaining about a bug in the game that needs to be fixed. Not to mention that again to raise the topic about the minimum value of this perk.

It only makes sense to treat a survivor who dc'ed like a dead survivor.

Thanatophobia means the fear of death. Being in a match should automatically trigger thanatophobia at its maximum as if all survivors are injured. This is because there's always the threat of death.

The stacks should only drop for every survivor who escaped. If all survivors are in the match, thanatophobia has 4 stacks. When 1 survivor escapes, thanatophobia drops to 3 stacks, so on and so forth.

A new mechanic that triggers if everyone is injured would be great. Survivors become desperate (lore-wise) and suffer some penalty, nothing major but some annoyance would be a neat addition to really make you feel like you're trapped in a deadly situation, aside from ruining your equipment mashing Struggles and Wiggles.

I mean, at the point where a Survivor DCed, you are facing one person less. This is an advantage. So you want even more advantage by punishing the other Survivors for a dickmove from one person, where they cannot do anything about it?

And I am not talking about those guys who ragequit on their last hook, more about those who ragequit the second they are found first. So every other Survivor has to have a disadvantage, besides already having a disadvantage by playing a 3v1?

Also, dont forget, you still get DCed by the game, would be quite frustrating if this Bug is still in the game AND you punish people for a bug that is not fixed yet.
