HITBOXES ARE BROKEN
Hitboxes are broken. I'm not just a sweaty and salty survivor main. I actually play killer quite a bit. If a killer swings at a window or pallet, it should go to the miss animation. If the killer was sent to the miss animation then people would not swing through pallets and windows. This would stop M1 killers, and this would make under rated killers such as huntress, plague, and hag much more viable.

Drop the pallet earlier or vault the window earlier, dont be so greedy.
Hit-stun trade-off is fair, if you mistime a pallet drop you get punished, end of story.

"end of story"... Tell that to the Hillbilly who yesterday chainsawed the Air next to me and still put me into the Dying State... with 40 ping. But yeah, its only Lag.

Hillbilly's chainsaw hit detection is the most inconsistent thing in this game. It doesnt work at all against exhaustion perks but sometimes you can get really strange downs.
The problem goes both sides, not only survivor suffer from this.

@tt_ivi_99 That is definitely true, I have been hit while vaulting pallets, like pretty much done I go down, and sometimes he hits pallets instead of survivors

Well true, you are right. There were also hits where I was wondering how I was able to avoid that. What I described just happened yesterday so it was in my mind.

The killer is able to hit people through a window, though. It's not a solid barrier that blocks all hits. The hitboxes, for what it's worth, are working as intended. What you're noticing is most latency. The fast vault animation is very short (half a second). If you have even 100 ping, that's 20% of the entire animation from the moment you start vaulting to the moment you land and regain control.
There's also some movie magic going on where the game will move the killer and their camera to make the hit look like it connected, but that happens after the game checks if the killer hit them or not. The key there is that the hit detection happens first and then it goes through the theatrics.
The game will be moving to dedicated servers soon™, though, and with that you can expect some changes to be coming that way.
