Description

The 5 seconds perk timer progress when standing still or performing break action and then regress when you are moving or acting again. Your Terror Radius gets reduced depending of the timer progress to finally reach a maximum of 4 metres. The Red Stain disappears when reaching the 25% of the timer.

Gain 0/25/50 % more Bloodpoints for actions in the Deviousness Category.

The Bonus Bloodpoints are only awarded during the Trial.

Why this changes ?

Basically this perk is badly reputed because it forces the killer to standing still to get it activated and this time cost currently only making it viable for camping purposes. Aside of this the Monitor & Abuse perk is favored by offering mindgame potientialities with the reduced Terror Radius. But when the previous perk is interesting to reach survivors stealthily, Insidious tends to have the opposite use : wait and ambush survivors who coming toward the killer. The original perk idea is still interesting, but needs some adjustment : Firstly the Terror Radius variation should be more dynamic in manner to be usable quickly (waiting only 1 second reduces already the TR by 20%) ; Secondly it shouldn't encouraging camping and so I have decided to limit the TR reduction to a maximum of 4 metres in manner to allow Borrowed Time to activate. To give it a use in chases, the Red Stain disappears when the timer reaching the 25% of the timer (1.25 second) and persists as long as the timer is up from this value, good for loops when the killer is mindgaming with the survivors behind a wall or some objects. As a bonus and because I don't think the perk's effect needs to be upgraded by tiers, I have added a Bloodpoints bonus with the Deviousness Catergory because it fits well with the Distressing perk.

    My first rework idea was:

    When standing still for 10/8/6 seconds, your Terror Radius will be reduced to 0 for the next 25 seconds.

    Can only be triggered every 60 seconds

  • The way I would improve the perk would be to change it from standing still to a sneaking perk, allowing a Killers to walk around with considerably lowered Terror Radius and Walking Speed. You would activate it using a secondary button, like Crouch.

    I would love that so much because I feel this game really lacks in the department of Killer's being sneaky, all the actual stealth perks are locked behind characters or are too specific to use well.

    I'd also like to see that the standing still for 5 seconds to reduce Killer Terror Radius to 0 until you move to be part of every Killer's Basic Kit. That would be so cool and horror movie like.

    That would remove some of the stealth killers' abilities, and the reason people use them. I know jump scares are great in a horror game, but giving the stealth power to every killer would be difficult to deal with. M&A already does the same thing, to a degree, especially with how popular it is today when added to killers that alter their radius or have low areas to begin with. A lot of (let's say 'devious') players use Insidious specifically as a build, so you would be taking away a big part of their play to change it in that way.

    Now, we all hate to be surprised by a Nurse with NOED popping out of the exit gates, but it's something we're going to have to deal with as long as it's in the game. She can only guard one, after all.
