Maybe 2 gates is to much.
Especially with the EGC. Hear me out.
I want you to imagine this scenario. You're a survivor. Someone has gone down as you open one of the exit gates, so you go for the unhook. You safely get the survivor off the hook, get chased, and put down as you try to juke the killer through jungle gyms and pallets, trying to make your way to the gate. Seems like something we've all done before right?
Now imagine you are a killer. the last gen popped and you got a chase. You know if you get them down you can draw the survivors away from the gates and possible get one, or more kills. You down the first survivor turn, and patrol the area between the gates and your hook, hoping to catch sight of someone, but the sound que behind you lets you know they slipped past. So you turn, see the uninjured survivor, and chase them down as they juke through jungle gyms and pallets, putting him down almost wihtin reach of that gate he craved. you pick him up, move to put him on the hook furthest from the door you can reach, and find out that there's a gate to either direction.
This is a situation many killers find themselves in, over and over again. This last hook is between 2 open gates, so he is left 2 options, camp, or let people body block and escape.
Now, I am in no way, shape or form saying this will stop end game camping. Some people camp to camp. But maybe 2 gates is to many?

Use Blood Warden

What would people do if the killer stood in front of the lever?

Hmm.. That is something to think about. Other games tend to have an endgame 'funnel' to really sell the intense nature for the need to escape. Maybe a mode for it would suit the tastes of DBD's playerbase rather than just an outright game change. I think this game is too volatile to only have a single gate. Then you have to think about a lot of things that could get affected by only having a single gate. Some killers would be absolutely nightmarish to deal with when escaping.

I understand what you’re saying but I feel like for some situations this wouldn’t be fair like imagine if there is only one survivor left and the killer finds and closes the hatch and just sit in front of the one exit gate
2 -
If that survivor isn't injured, they escape in that scenario.

You have got to be kidding me.

you're correct but you have to look at every scenario. Like if it was a killer that can just insta down, like the killer can stand in front of one gate as the end game collapse happens and the survivor no matter what will die it’s kinda not fair to not give the survivor even a chance.

No bait would be if i put a heavy topic and changed what we were tlaking about or told you to go look at my vids.
No, this is called a discussion. In this discussion we are talking about how there are 2 exit gates, and how that causes bad situations. And how that might be able to be fixed. Maybe they make the exit gates spawn further apart, or closer together. Maybe there's only 1 gate and a hatch? Let's talk tweaks.
But thanks for bumping my thread while i was asleep.

Then we would have the "camping exit gate" problem. When last gen gets popped the killer could just zoomed over to the only exit gate and stand there, making sure no survivors leave. This in turn could hold the game hostage from the killers side. Slap NOED on top of it and you're sure to at least smack down one of them if not more. Then you can just slug to your hearts content until they bleed out and doing it over and over again to either the survivors DC cause they can't even have a chance to get out or they all die due to slugging. Have a one way escape if never a good thing imo. There's too many problems that comes along with it.

Yes this is a problem but the killer camping the only gate that is available is much more logical and reasonable.
/s
This is a non existent issue and honestly, this is the first time for me to see somebody complaining about this.
Then killer mains riot when survivors tell that they want 4k every game handed to them on a silver platter.

it's not the first time i've heard it mentioned, but it isn't talked about much.
Sure, the killer would camp the exit. while under normal situations this isn't a bad thing. An uninjured survivor will escape when near the gate. And Noed just means you destroy the totem while he stands at the exit not defending it.
But this would undoubtedly buff BIlly (and lf) and he doesn't need to be stronger.
So how would you adjust things to help the problem? You recognized it exists.
Maybe they should make sure the gates are on either side of the map?

I don't think you understand the main problem.
I wasn't talking about an exit gate that has already been opened. What will survivors do when I am a leatherface and stand in front of the switch box?
There is only one gate and survivors can not even open it. There is a reason why there are 2 gates, to prevent the impossible which is opening an exit gate.
If the gates spawn on either side, killer mains will whine about it more than survivors will. Tbh, I am pretty sure majority of survivor mains will be in love with that change and I just can't see how that is going to help killers.

I agree, if there put only 1 hook in the entire map
3 -
actually, not a bad way of looking at the problem.
Maybe if killers got stronger in the EGC and wiggle was less effective, they could move to further hooks. This would let them move away from there hooks, and try to catch survivors coming from the gates.

Yeah......no thanks. Two gates is fine as is.

Pick Leatherface, stand in front of the only gate at the start of the game.
Pick Trapper, put a line of traps in front of the only gate and stand in front of it all game.
Pick Freddy, stand in front of the gate, wait for the five gen and put everyone to sleep while they try to open it.
Pick Myers, rank until you are almost EW Tier3, stand on front of the gate and wait for them to come get a sweet EW3 knife in the butt.
Pick anyone else and run NOED and Rancor.
You need two gates or the game will make no sense in a lot of situations, if you really want to secure the kill in the scenario you posted either camp and get one kill or risk it to get more or nothing at all.

Close Hatch.
French kiss Lever.
Laugh as Survivor dies because you're blocking the Lever.
No thanks.

Yea. And there should be only 5 gens instead of 7 because you know how to balance and develop a good game.
2 -
Are you kidding? 5 gens is OP. Survivors should need to repair 6 but only 1 spawns every 15 minutes.
3 -
Two gates are definitely necessary
1 -
Yeah, 2 gates are too much. There should be 0 gates.
