No body damage to survivors

This has been bothering me for a while now, slowly building up over time, and it's hit the point I can't help but say something to see if I'm the only one who cares.

Survivors get beaten, slashed, stabbed, hooked, and killed directly... Yet, the only indication of any damage to them is blood pools and grunts. No cuts, no marks, no torn clothing, no blood dripping, no blood anywhere on their body. So, as I was thinking about this, I came up with a few ideas for basic visual features.

Something I was thinking of was actually gameplay helping slightly, that would also help with the complete lack of visual response on the survivors. Upon being hooked, you have a stab mark in your shoulder, showing you've been hooked. If you reach struggle state, the wound would start to have a subtle entity touched glow to it, and obviously, death hook you just die as per normal

Additionally, I think all mori's should cause damage to the body. The survivors can get their finger cut off by the clown. You'd think Freddy literally impaling his claw through their chest would leave ANY mark at all, but, it doesn't.

And, I think there should also be more visuals to being injured, and for the sake of simplicity, it would disappear after being healed. Dripping blood, a wound mark applied on point of impact (Very easy to do, or just a variation of wound on front/back for different wound types (Bladed/blunt)

What do people think? Am I the only one who cares about this?

I had the same idea except with addons for example dirty/begrime anything would look either dripping with something green or covered in it

It's a cool idea! Probably not at the top of the dev's list though LOL

Maybe DBD 2 for sure. It requires a complete rework of characters.

Something MK11 got lazy on is the damage visuals over time. I'd Love to see something like this come to DBD.

They don't really have physical bodies anymore, do they? Also, I like how it's all generic. It saves both framerate, super-gore factor, and just leaves things up to the imagination. That's why even getting cut with a chainsaw just makes blood come out. They can get hooked over and over without loss of dexterity.

    It's not important for me.

Also, there are so many things the devs need to do, there is no room for anything like that, I'm afraid.

"The game isn't supposed to be a gore-fest" "It saves both framerate" (Not really, the game is poorly optimized just by default, containing no low resolution textures for lower settings) "super-gore factor, and just leaves things up to the imagination"

For me, it's not a matter of "Muh gore"

It's a matter of "It looks stupid for someone to get ######### impaled and have no blood on them at all, not even a drop"

It's unrealistic, and kinda takes me out of the moment. The game is already very gorey in terms of what is done. It's nothing shy of the devs just not wanting to bother with it.

I'd like to re-state, The Clown does in fact CUT OFF SURVIVOR'S FINGERS https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8eaxThUOwcE

I also just realized, that the Hag rips the survivor's stomach open and rips out their organs, and eats them... I feel dumb for forgetting that but... Yeah

Once again, gorey, violent things done, without body damage https://youtu.be/ZD2Q0uojPvg?t=163

This wouldn't require a rework of anything so I'm not sure what all these game designers are talking about.

People who are anti-gore in this game are strange to be honest. It's a horror game!

It's a pretty cool idea to be honest. I'd love to see more things like this because the fact is if this game was optimized better it could have fun details like these.

Would require a lot of graphical changes who would need quite some work. I would like to have something like that for sure but I think the work force that is required for this should be used for something we need more. But this should definetly somewhere down the line
