Franklin's Demise perk change suggestion

We have all heard of it for one side of the population its one the most if not the most hated perk in the game... Franklin's demise. Its not that its overpowered but like (Old?) Legion its unsatisfying and infuriating to play against and I have a suggestion for a change that would remove the part I hate about it the most: The fact it destroys items when the durability goes below 0%

JUST. DONT. DELETE. THE ITEM. Just let it be 0%

Please

I worked hard to find that item

I really want to run builds without self care

If I could the whole perk changed however (which is likely not gonna happen anytime soon since the team has a lot of ######### they gotta deal with) I would love for it to just remove durability but make it a higher % along with of course the change to not delete the item. Technicly that would make the perk more effective for the killer and less infuriating for the survivior, both sides win

(the killer honestly doesnt care whether or not you have the item post game as long as you cant use it while in the game)

the higher % would make up for the lost time surviviors would spend getting their item back I wouldnt mind 20/25/30%, you can avoid getting hit.

Yes I know you can drop it midchase but that still takes time.

Yes I know its contradictuary to the "builds without selfcare thing" but atleast I would get to keep the item

    I don't see why not.

Yeah no. I love franklins so much. People try to say "Oh but I don't even bring in items" but they still go to chests. I don't want them having that extra edge to rush gens or insta heal or flashlight save. I want to destroy their items. I want that percentage to go down when they get so selfish enough to go back and get that item. I want to see that salty DC because I smacked that item out of their hands and they realize they can't play their way anymore. It's one of the few ways killers still have power. Keep it as is.

I'd rather increase damage on item up to 30% at level 3 of perk. 10% is really too low, you dont hit them that much with same item in hand.

Wouldn't that require a fundamental change to how items with zero charges function? Since "Items are destroyed when they have no charges left but not if they have no charges left because of Franklin's Demise" seems like not worth the effort to implement.

I am too dumbfounded by this post to make an actual point. I am that amazed by the stupidity of Toxic survivors.

Y'all can't read. Op isn't saying to make Franklin's stop working. Op wants an item to become unusable, but still keep it through Franklin's.

The only difference with this suggestion is that if the survivor finds the dropped item before escaping, they can keep it.

It'll still lose value, gate tbaggers will still get punished. No insta heals if it becomes broken.

Go to your local library to learn how to read.

Doesn't matter if they can keep the item. I want them destroyed. Plain and simple. If they can bring it in I wanna be able to destroy the item so they can't use it this match or the next. If I have to lose my add ons during one match why can't survivors be forced into the same situation?

Well I don't mind survivors running around with medkits I have a major problem with the clicky clicky flashlight survivors.

I take great pride in destroying a flashlight if this change happens then I won't be able to do that anymore

People are enjoying destroying items. I learn something new every day.

It's the little things man. That's all. The more pain I can cause the better.

Doesn’t really affect me...I rarely bring in items unless I’m gonna prestige a survivor and I want to use the item. I typically hoard all my items until I have over 20 of each item

    Franklins makes it worth living.

Because you loose all your addons every time, but atleast make survivors loose their equally expensive items.

I like using it just in case they bring Insta-Heals and those last minute flashlights...

Just like others said: we use it for that exact purpose, to destroy your item.

You say "I worked hard to find that item". Nah. You just clicked on a Bloodweb node. That's not hard work :)

While I agree...it goes vice versa. Killers don’t work hard to find their add-ons. Say that to my 30 ultra-rare Father’s Glasses and 27 Wakizashi Sayas with Spirit.

@MegMain98 quite right, but I didn't say we do (although there's the small notion that a lot of killers MUST use decent addons every game to have a chance, while survivors can be perfectly fine without any items). I'm currently running low on Smelly Inner Soles... does someone have a spare?

I just wanted to bring up that point because I’ve heard so many people claim that getting add-ons is hard work when it really isn’t. Same for survivors (although I can NEVER find keys in my bloodweb). It’s just RNG. Sometimes you’ll get 4 ebony moris in back to back to back to back in your bloodweb and sometimes you’ll get only one or two purple add-ons.

Certain killers can be add-on dependent against GOOD survivors but any killer can demolish potatoes. I usually go into my survivor matches without an item, I usually rely more-so on my perks.

If somebody had some spare Muddy Sports Caps or Talisman that would be much appreciated. I don’t wanna have to start using all my tryhard beads.

Pretty sure NOED gained the most outrage so far, but whatever.
